The best meal we have enjoyed in two visits to Italy that has encompassed six regions. First, the service was cheerful, professional, helpful and at all times gracious. Unfortunately we did not get the names of the two staff members who took care of us, but both added immeasurably to the experience. Second, the atmosphere was ideal. We were seated on a quiet night at the rear of the restaurant in a small, covered terrace. Perfect for enjoying the company of our dining companions. Finally, the courses were each superb. In particular, the liver crostini, salad with chicken, vegetable flan, gnudi and selection of three different beef sources (grilled to perfection—but with a hot stone provided if your preference is for more well done steak) were nicely presented and incredibly flavorful. A shared chestnut lava cake and complimentary limoncello were a wonderful cap to a highly pleasurable evening. The four of us agreed that we could not be more appreciative of the Anima staff for providing a most memorable...
Read moreMy husband and I walked past this restaurant during our first few hours of being in Florence - I decided we should have dinner there just as a happenstance and it did not disappoint. Anima Osteria was truly a place that set the bar for the whole food and service scene so high for us on our first night here. Our waitress had incredible recommendations and attention to detail. She was so incredibly personable and took the time to make sure we were happy with our meals and to understand our likes/dislikes when going through the menu. Every course we had (appetizer, main course, dessert) was incredible and we already are making plans to go again before our trip ends. It was also fun to get complimentary shots of limoncello after the meal! This is a newer restaurant so it was a little quieter but it meant my husband and I got to enjoy each others company even more. It was a perfect date night spot and intro to Florence. 10/10 will definitely be...
Read moreAnima was an incredible experience. From the greeting at the door to the farewell at the end it was top quality! Our servers were attentive and so kind. We had the maltagliati and the Culurgiones both pastas we’d never had before. Both were Incredible! Especially the Culurgiones, a Sardinian ravioli stuffed with a traditional Tuscan filling. So creamy and delicious melted in your mouth. But it wasn’t just the food, we tried new things but the staff(I wish I’d gotten their names) were so kind, would joke with us and let us spend the afternoon playing games. Even went as far to bring us one of their favorites! After a hot day of sightseeing, it was so nice to be welcomed into a space like you were part of the family! This is a beautiful well thought out place from the table settings to the service. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you so much! We had the...
