Sasha, we would like to thank you for such a memorable experience!!

My wife and I had just finished admiring the awe inspiring and elegant Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and we were trying to decide our next adventure in Firenze. We stumbled across Bistrot 74 and decided to go in for a glass of wine and Prosecco. We had been advised to drink each restaurants house wine because they are usually so good in Italy. So that's what we ordered. Sasha said he had several very nice wines in the same price range if we were interested. It's wine, so we are always interested! He gave us an impromptu wine/Prosecco tasting and he was spot on with his recommendations! While having our wine, I asked about the room in back, "was it for private parties, wine tastings, etc.?" He offered to bring us back and take a look. It was a wonderful space, very tasteful and well appointed.

He asked if he would like to see what he'd been working on in the basement. We agreed and just like every teen in a horror movie, we eagerly followed him down a narrow staircase. We emerged into the most amazing wine cellar/dining room!

He showed us around and explained how he, his wife and the people who worked there would stay after work and do a little bit more each night until it was finished.

Sasha was an amazing host and guide. We had a wonderful time and it was one memory that we will cherish from our trip to Florence.

Would we go back? We're already planning our next trip and it will include dining along with wine at Bistrot 74.

Bistrot 74 – what a hidden gem in the heart of Florence!

It’s hard to find the right words to truly capture this place. Authenticity, atmosphere, and dedication are what come to mind first.

The interior is a small masterpiece – a blend of stone and wood that transports you to another era. Every detail exudes warmth and character.

And the food? A true work of art. From appetizers to mains to desserts – each bite is carefully crafted and flawlessly executed. The wine selection is outstanding and clearly curated for true connoisseurs.

What truly elevates the experience is Mr. Saša. His knowledge, passion, and love for what he does are undeniable. He can speak about every dish and every glass of wine with such enthusiasm, it makes you feel like part of something truly special.

Bistrot 74 is not just a restaurant – it’s an experience. A heartfelt recommendation to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary moment...

I don’t usually review many restaurants but I felt compelled to leave a great review for this one. I booked at this place because the night before, I saw a waiter outside carefully placing an old school music record on the player. We peeked inside and the ambience and menu seemed great. I was there with my 2 kids (all vegetarian) and we seriously had the best meal we’ve had in Italy so far—the ambience is peaceful, quaint and beautiful, it’s a small place, the service is impeccable and that are in no rush to get you out the door, the food mouth watering, especially the zucchini flan and the Gorgonzola gnocchi and chocolate soufflé. We’ve had many amazing meals in Italy but this one is above and beyond due to food quality and presentation, ambience and service. Highly recommended. We’ll be...

The food was very good. The issue I have with the place was the "cover charge" that was added to the bill. Nobody likes surprises and it put a damper on what was a pleasant experience. There was no mention about this "fee" at any point and if you don't look at your bill, it won't be mentioned. Let it be said that the fee amount was not alot but its the principal of it and the taking advantage of tourists (IMO) as I am sure the locals that were eating there were not subject to this charge. If you ask before you pay, you may be able to get it removed but I am not sure why it should even come to that.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant, the owner Sasha told us the history of the Italian cocktail negroni and we had one to start our dining experience it was really the best one We have had…it set the bar very high. The Primie was absolutely wonderful paired with beautiful wine on the recommendation of Dan (Dejan) Our waiter for the evening was wonderful and we chatted for a long time. Please show us the new new edition downstairs. The atmosphere in this restaurant is wonderful and the staff for absolutely lovely. The cook has 30 years experience and it shows. Look no further EAT HERE!
