Walking up I didn’t expect much, seeing just a small food truck. Was a little surprised to see they had a whole deli meat slicer inside, the kind you see in a grocery store. I ordered the Leone and a beer, and ate while I watched the sun set from Piazza del Michelangelo. My wife and I just about died and went to heaven, and I’m atheist.

Trying to chase that high again, I went to 3 other sandwich places in the city and nothing could beat the first one from Chalet il Boschetto, not even the one everybody goes to near Uffizi.

I’m pretty sure it’s the best sandwich i have ever eaten in my life. Get it and thank them for making such...

When there is a longer line, the service is not fast - at all. In fact I can only go when my friend is in town, or on the off day my wife is patient enough to go with me because god did not bless me with that type of patience. And they take their sweet time constructing the sandwich. BUT! The schiacciata’s are amazing! In fact whenever my friend leaves town again we start WhatsApping each other pictures of the Motard sandwich - eagerly anticipating our next visit. Which I think is a tremendously large compliment and testimony to the enjoyment of their schiaccate. Prices are extremely fair....

When I reach that point in life where parenthood beckons, I'll proudly name my offspring after the culinary artist responsible for crafting tonight's sandwich sensation.
