A Culinary Gem in Piazza Santo Spirito
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Piazza Santo Spirito in Florence, GustaOsteria offers an unforgettable dining experience that captures the soul of Italian cuisine. From the moment we stepped through its doors, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff made us feel like cherished guests in a family home.
The menu, a thoughtful blend of traditional Tuscan flavors and contemporary creativity, was as inspiring as the setting. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece of balance, flavor, and authenticity. The Pici Cacio e Pepe, perfectly al dente with a creamy, peppery sauce, transported us to the rolling hills of Tuscany. The Bistecca alla Fiorentina, grilled to perfection, was a showstopper—a tender, flavorful cut that truly celebrated the region’s culinary pride.
For dessert, the Tiramisu was an ethereal blend of rich mascarpone, delicate coffee-soaked ladyfingers, and just the right hint of cocoa. Paired with a glass of house-made limoncello, it was the perfect sweet note to end a memorable meal.
What truly set GustaOsteria apart, however, was the genuine hospitality of the staff. They guided us through the menu with infectious passion, suggested the perfect wine pairings, and ensured every detail of our evening was flawless. Their warmth and enthusiasm elevated the experience beyond just a meal—it felt like a celebration of food, culture, and connection.
Dining at GustaOsteria is more than a recommendation; it’s a must for anyone visiting Florence. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or simply seeking an authentic Italian experience, this gem in Piazza Santo Spirito will leave you planning your next visit before you’ve even finished your last...
Read moreOur tour guide suggested this restaurant to us, saying that locals eat here along with the tourists. She also said the quality is good and prices are fair. So we thought we'd check it out, and we completely agree! My fiance ordered the penne pasta with sausage, and it was delicious! We both loved it, and pecorino cheese gave an explosion of flavor! We now want to put that cheese on everything!! I ordered the meatball and potatoes, which was also delicious! I would say this dish could be subject to tastes, but worth trying! We are American, and it's not quite what we're used to, but it had a depth of flavor that was really good! The couple next to us were from Dublin, and they also loved it! We also ordered the house white wine, and it was light and delicious! And we finished with the taramisu. We loved it! But this was our first taramisu ever, so we can't compare. We spent exactly 40 euro for 1\2 liter of wine, 2 entrees, and a dessert. Lastly, we came in off season and made a reservation earlier in the day, and they were able to seat the 2 of us at...
Read moreGiven that we were attempting to find somewhere to eat on a Sunday, we knew it would be busy with most traditional style restaurants being closed on a Sunday. We arrived around 9pm, waited for about 15-20mins for a table. We were given a table inside and the table was really sticky and our arms just stuck to it, not really what you want when your hot 🥵 from 30 degrees evening temperatures. We waited 10 minutes after sitting down for some place mat sheets to be put down and to be given some menus. After taking 5 minutes to choose. We sat looking and trying to get the attention of the waiter/waitress' for about 15 mins to order. We ordered the pici di cacio e pepe (cheesy style pasta) which came out barely warm which affected the taste and texture of the dish. We also ordered the pasta with wild boar, this dish was at the right temperature, and the meat was good. After finishing our meals we asked for another bottle of water to go alongside our bottle of house white, which didn't arrive. We were given dessert menu however we thought it best to just...
