Koi Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Florence

Don't go on Sundays or holidays! We have been here five times. The food is good when they are not stressed. This time we sat outside and watched how the tables around us were served. One table didn't even receive their drinks after 30 minutes of waiting. We didn't receive 20% of that which we ordered and the warm plates were served cold. The waitresses are obviously overworked and there is confusion and chaos which was confirmed to us as we paid and asked if they could use someone extra just for the weekends. The answer was "no, it's a mess" ! I figure the place is full and they charge €14.90 plus €2.00 Coperta per person. We were there for over two hours and didnt receive what we ordered. So they make money whether you get what you order or not. So its really "all you can eat from what you get"! The waitress agreed its a mess but they contunue to make money with poorly rolled sushi rolls and cold shrimps. They need extra help on the weekends to assist on getting the finished plates out as soon...

Nice restaurant nearby the city center, a good place for sushi and a great way to escape the tourism. The sushi for lunch cost 14,90 excl. coperta and drinks. The only thing i did not like was that the deserts, that on the menu are included, seemed to be excluded from the menu. The menu is available by download. It would have been nice of the menu was a bit more varied. Maybe because of Covid, that i can understand the download. Service is good and friendly. The sushi is good and nice. Ci siamo rimasti davvero male. Quando aveva aperto, era il miglior ristorante giapponese all you can eat di Firenze. Era praticamente diventato un punto di ritrovo fisso per i pranzi con con gli amici, ed infatti avevo dato quattro stelle.

Nell'ultimo periodo invece la qualità del cibo di è abbassata drasticamente, così come la cura per il dettaglio (impiattamento e servizio) che invece prima era molto molto alta.

Oggi siamo arrivati alla presa in giro da parte del ristoratore. Avevamo ordinato dei piatti col tonno. I nighiri sembravano di plastica, palline di riso bianco con sopra una fetta di tonno dall'aspetto orribile. il sapore non era da meno, così come l'odore.

Abbiamo chiamato il cameriere per segnalare che il tonno era probabilmente andato a male e ci è stato risposto che "si tratta di una varietà di tonno particolare, il tonno siciliano, che ha il caratteristico sapore molto forte".

Io vi assicuro che quello non era un sapore forte, era semplicemente tonno andato a male.

Faccio notare che eravamo quattro commensali, tutti e quattro grandi amanti del sushi in ogni sua forma. Garantisco che sappiamo riconoscere il pesce buono da quello scadente.

Esperienza terribile. Non tanto per il tonno ma per la faccia di bronzo mostrata dal cameriere (che in realtà credo fosse il proprietario) che ha dato contro a quattro commensali insoddisfatti pur di non ammettere la scarsa qualità del prodotto servito.

Purtroppo, temo che il locale sia da cancellare...
