I have had quite an hard time to rate La Drogheria, mostly because I was unsure whether to assign 5 stars or 4 stars. In the end I went for 4 stars, mostly because the dessert was quite "normal" and did not excel like the rest of the meal.
First things first, the place is quite popular, booking is mandatory.
Secondly, in Florence there is an expansion of "american burgher" joints, unfortunately most of them are not very good, and lack that "last mile" that would get them to be like things are in the US.
La Drogheria does an excellent job under that point of view, offering a great atmosphere, a modern ambient, and a great great great level of burgher. Our dishes where big, chips were great, meat was cooked perfectly, tasty and juicy. Buns are great too, not the mass produced stuff that you get in many other places in Florence. Surely they are mass produced too, but at least I don't get the impression that I could buy them at the Supermarket down the road...
Menu is not overly complicated but offers a great variety of items and also some veggie dishes.
Shame for the cake (we tried cheesecake), that was rather bland. To my review, they lost 1 star there.
All in all I'd say that it's one of the best places in Florence for burghers and...
Read moreLet's be honest: if you are fifty years old and in your memories you remember about the maxiburger you have seen a long time ago in the american movies, or if your desire is to make a home made edition of the prigram "Man vs Food", well then you are in the right place ! Spicy sauces will create a fantastic harmony mixing with the great taste of the meat of the burgers and fried onions, potatoes and a world of other "slurpy" kind of inventions which make great your experience here. Usually crowded, is better to go around 12/12:30, otherwise there's the risk to queue. Children are welcome, also with dedicated menu. Prices arequite low, because, after all, you are eating an hamburger and fried potatoes ... BUT ... the quantity is more than enough to full everyone ! Expect to see the waiters bringing a big dish totally full of food .... PLEASE: remember, better you are twenty years old if wanna survive...

Was brought here by a local as I once again needed a break from Tuscan cuisine, and a little slice of home. A hamburger and fries. Ha.
I was obviously skeptical, especially when this place was located pretty far outside of the touristy area and I seemed to be the only one that didn't speak Italian in the place. The waitress could hardly speak English which I totally get and not a bad thing, but just trying to set the scene for y'all.
The vibe of the place was Inspector gadget meets a Yardhouse. If you don't know what Yardhouse is, I can’t blame you. It’s a slightly upscale american bar/burger joint.
I got the Perfect Burger, and it was ENORMOUS. Enough to feed a family of 3. Maybe 3 and a half. It was just one step shy of perfect.
I was so rattled that I struggled even getting a quality pic of it. That's on me. I would consider this an elite...
