First picture if you pay attention will see a pc of plastic that my wife found in the pasta!
Worse experience fir this year! I choose this restaurant based on their yelp reviews and was very exited when i get there and restaurant was full,we didn't have a reservation and was unsure if will be able to find a table but unfortunately we did.. the soon we get there the owner found a table for us and from that moment the bad experience started, the server came to our table after the 20 minutes waiting time,we ordered appetizers and pasta for my wife and "1 kg" steak medium 0.5 house wine and also asked for the steel water the appetizer came in 20 minutes and drinks, the steak and pasta came in one hour, the appetizer that we ordered burrattina with truffle and chicken pate ,the pate was warm and not tasty at all and the burratina was just mozzarella cheese with a little truffle on top also nothing special, the pasta with truffle came very oily and not fresh, the steak in the menu should be 1 kg this is a lie it doesn't have not either 500 gr ,the steak was rear and cold with lot of fat and big crumbles of sea salt and to fatty also way to much rosemary , to salty and because of the sea salt I hurt my teeth! After we ate the server without to ask us if we need anything else brought the check to us,he included the sparkling water and 2 coperto we asked him what is coperto and he said that is the paper that he put it on the table really!!!!! Two pc of paper 5 euros,I never thought that i have to pay for the table cover it is ridiculous!!!! The water that he brought to us was steel water in the check says sparkling water we asked and he said with disrespect doesn't meter steel or sparkling it's the same price, then why he asked us at the beginning if we want steel or mineral water.... Weird! We went to the others restaurants and nobody charged us for water in Rome and Florence .. my wife told him and he aggressively said that we drink water from river for free I told him that it's not nice to say like that and he told us that we have broken English and didn't understand him insulting both of us in the front of all the people in the restaurant, horrible services and disgusting food! I hope this business will not last long because people deserve a better services and food for the price they are paying, overpriced old restaurant doesn't worth not even a star, not recommend it at all! Stay away from this restaurant and choose another place if you don't wanna be discriminated and fully by some disrespectful servers and resist Owner! Below I attached some pictures take a look and make your decision! Good luck everyone! The check for two appetizer and one pasta and one steak 110 euros pretty expensive for a low...
Read moreThis review is combined with the review for "Osteria del Pavone". Came in for dinner without reservation, what a mistake on the weekend, and asked for a table for 2. The owner suggested that we sit at the bar since there was no free table. The bar looked like a counter, and it looked like he was in the middle of balancing his books or something, but since we like to sit at the bar for dinner we thought it would be interesting and said yes. He than took us to the back of the restaurant, through the kitchen and through a small door into a different room, with a big beautiful bar, waiters dressed in suits, and soft music in the background. This was "Osteria del Pavone". Apparently the two restaurants are connected and they have an agreement that "Bianco"'s customers can sit at the bar at "Pavone" if there's no room. So we got the food from "Bianco" and the service and drinks from "Pavone". Hence the combined review. We started our meal with a platter of meats and cheese, served with 2 crostinis with liver patè. The meats were amazing, good quality of Tuscan sausage and prosciutto, and a good quality cheese. The patè was also great, served on a good piece of bread. Next we had the dumplings. They are like ricotta and spinach large gnocchi. They were fantastic. The texture was soft with a real spinach flavor, all served in a puddle of melted butter. We thought about getting the onion flan but we didn't since it comes with truffle shavings and my dinner partner doesn't like it. But a lady next to us got it. It looked amazing and she said the taste was exquisite. We didn't know what meat to order and the bartender suggested the beef fillet with chianti sauce. It sounded good so we ordered it. The man knows what he is talking about. The quality of the meat was super premium, served medium-rare like they do in Firenze. The meat was soft as butter and cooked perfectly, served with roasted potatoes which were perfect. But the real star was the sauce. It was a good Chianti wine, reduced, so that all the flavors are concentrated. It was the highlight of the dish. Since we couldn't decide on dessert, we got 2 of them. One was described as dark chocolate with white chocolate and truffle. It was just that. Good quality soft dark chocolate, and good soft white chocolate, and some truffle shavings. The combination of the flavors was unique and great. They paired perfectly together. The second dessert was called bigne with caramel sauce. The dough was great and the caramel sauce was also amazing. The bigne was filled with high quality vanilla ice cream. A sweet dish to end the meal, but not too sweet. The food here is one of the best I had in Florence, and this is definitely a place that you need to visit...
Read moreIf you're in Florence, you MUST go to Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco! I heard about it from a client/friend that goes to Florence frequently and she said she eats here every time she's in Florence and it's a phenomenal dining experience. And after trying it, I totally agree!
We dined on a weekday night and our hotel concierge team called to make us a reservation. They take reservations about a week in advance of your requested dining date.
When we arrived on time, we were seated promptly and were warmly greeted by the restaurant staff.
We were seated near the bar at a table, and I have to say the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, very small, and they have a couple of tables in lower areas of the restaurant (looked like the basement) and also one table in the attic. It was probably one of the most rustic, but beautiful restaurants we saw in Italy.
Our server came by a few minutes after we seated to offer any suggestions and took our drink order. We ordered a large carafe of wine for 16 euros and it was a very tasty wine for the price.
For the meal, we ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce to start as our appetizer (12 euros), which was absolutely amazing and very tasty and was plenty big for two people to share. They also brought complimentary bread to start as well.
For entrees, we ordered the Petto di pollo con pecorino e tartufo (grilled chicken with cheese and truffles, 24 euros), and the Straccetti di manzo con palate e verdure (beef strips with potatoes, 16 euros). Both were outstanding, and extremely flavorful. I still am thinking about the flavor and quality of the food weeks after our visit!
Service was so amazing, along with the food. We also needed to get a taxi cab from the restaurant to get back to the hotel we were staying at, and we asked an older man that I think was the owner where we could catch a cab nearby, and he said he would call one for us. And we waited right outside the restaurant and he came out and checked on us a few minutes later and told us the cab should be there in a few minutes.
I really felt like I was dining at a luxury restaurant, but also felt like I was dining at someone's home. It was an amazing dining experience...
