il Pacchero - pizza e cucina — Restaurant in Florence

Romantic river view, central, excellent genuine quality food, elegant setting and welcoming restaurant. I loved this restaurant, it was a welcome surprise. We were looking for a good quality restaurant which wouldn't offer the usual touristic low quality food at high prices - difficult to find in the center of a popular city as Florence.

This restaurant, Il Pacchero was perfect. The menu offers an excellent range of choice, pizza Napoletana, pasta, meat, as well as nice big salads. We had pizza and a massive sallad. I am very picky with Pizza Napoletana, as I like it super light pozza with the tall ' cornicione' and super thin base. This was exactly this, light and airy 'cornicione', and delicous and original options of ingredients, in adition to the classic pizzas (must try their pizza with "mozzarella blu" and caramellised onion). Also the restaurant itself is welcoming, elegant and very relaxing, overlooking the river, with tables next to windows right over the river. One of the staff members, Roberto, was incredibly and truly genuinely welcoming, to us. He was so kind, we asked to be moved to a table looking onto the river, so he went out of his way, to free a table and let us sit at the table with a view. The restaurant therefore will become my favourite go-to, when I return to Florence, both for a romantic dinner, both is i want genuine healthy food in a well kept genuine restaurant with a spectacular view right on the river. If you are doubting about going to this place or not, GO. The experience is efficient and enjoyable: From the beginning you can use your phone to scan the QR code that contains the menu in several different languages, so you can decide what to eat without needing to wait for a anyone to bring you the menu. No mobile data? No problem. You can use their free Wi-Fi and all the information needed to connect is already on the table. What about the food? EXCELLENT. The plates are really flavorful and well-presented, as well as served with a decent quantity, so no need to worry about those classical "gourmet" sized portions. And the place? Gorgeous. There is a really nice vibe inside, because the place looks elegant. You can even see the river and the bridge if you pick one of the tables at the bottom. So the prices should be really high, right? I'm glad to say no to that. You can expect to enjoy your meal and pay the same amount as you would in any other restaurant from the zone.

Fantastic service very accommodating owner and staff , even when busy even without a reservation,we only had to wait 20 minutes. Both our starters and Pizza's were excellent. The Wein was Excellent and chilled to the right temperature especially in the current heat wave that is gripping Southern Europe and Italy. We did not have a Window seat this time around but nevertheless their service was too class & it is not surprising that they are in the top 50 best Pizza restaurants in Italy. It can get busy so it would be advised to book in advance as you may not get a table, we were lucky both times we went but as just two people it is easier to accommodate for larger groups booking in advance would be advised so as not to be disappointed, as a few were while we were waiting. So yes some of the best table service in Florence and excellent Starters and Pizza. Very friendly...
