Not an enjoyable meal or experience. Travelling from NYC and have travelled internationally for decades. First trip to Italy and noticed many restaurants will bring out bread without telling you that it is not complimentary. I get it...tourists don't know any better and in the UK and US, bread is always complimentary at restaurants when servers bring it to the table without patrons requesting. The server brought out bread to us and we refused. He came back back moments latera with the bread and snarkily said "In Italy, bread is free". Ummm, nah, it isn't actually.
