This was the best ice cream I have ever had. The coffee flavour tasted like an artisan coffee from an independent shop, it was delicious by coffee standards never mind the fact it was coming from an ice cream. The chocolate orange flavour was also incredible.
I didn't know ice cream could have such strong flavour, all other ice cream now seems like watered down mush compared to this gelato. I honestly think it may have ruined ice cream for me, I'll never be able to look at another tub of Ben and Jerry's without a sense of impending disappointment. Guess I'll just have to come back to Florence every time I want more gelato...
Honestly though, I've heard people wax lyrical about gelato being the 'best' but up until now I never understood why. I mean the gelato was good, but it wasn't as good as people made out. Now I realise I was just having mediocre gelato. Why did I waste so much time on mediocre gelato? Why Google, why?..... Google doesn't know the answer..... guess I'll try Chat GPT.....
P.S. don't worry about the queue, the gelato...
Read moreNot exactly the best ice cream in the city, but unfortunately one of the worst services. The flavor was good but after several days in Florence I found really good spots. My family insisted quite a lot to go there because there was always a queue in the place, and they thought this should have been really good. So, I decided to go today. The queue was moving a little slow, but I decided to be patient and wait. After reaching, the person attending was quite stressed and her attitude was so rude. It was so strange to find this kind of attitude after being attended by such nice people in Florence. In any case, they were so rude that they even forgot to add the small cookie. I don't get why so much rudeness. I understand the stress, but in this case we were just customers, not even asking anything (we were even ready with our specific orders since before being attended). In any case, it is unfortunate that I must score so low to this place, but I must do this based on my...
Read moreThe first spot my friends and I experienced upon arriving in Florence - a perfect start to our trip! The women behind the counter told us about the woman who owns and started the business, how she comes in each day, decides what flavors she wants to serve, and makes them on the spot that morning. It’s an inspiring place to say the least. The flavors rotate each day - we ended up stopping by 4 times and always found some new additions. There were so many unique flavors alongside the classics. I never had a scoop I didn’t like - loved the Strawberry and Ricotta, Cioccolato, Zabione, Pistachio, … to name a few :) The pistachio tastes exactly like a pistachio in gelato form, the quality is incredible! The topic of gelato came up in a pasta making class we took - our guide recognized this spot when we mentioned it and said she thinks it’s the best gelato in Florence without hesitation. If you’re reading this, I hope you go and enjoy it as much as...
