My review is completely based on my experience and not on the quality of food. I need to clarify this so that I am fair.

This place has a huge "Bar" sign outside. Came in for a drink with my wife as we were exhausted from walking for a few of hours. This place was empty so we sat at a table close to a window. Our hostess asked us to move to a tiny table for two which is fine so we moved without any fuss. Then she came to take our order and we ordered our drinks. She then asked us if we were gonna eat to which we said no. Then she extremely rudely told us that this is a restaurant and not a bar and we cannot sit. Mind you, the place is completely empty. I said okay, I was fine with moving again, even though my wife was ready to leave. Upon confronting her about the place being empty and us being treated in this manner, we were given a seat by the door. My pint was 3/4th, served with enormous attitude, and we were berated in local language.

Anyway, guests be aware. If you're not eating you're not welcome here. Oh, I forgot to mention, this place was completely empty, when we were treated in this manner. I also tipped this lady to show my gratitude. I am sure she was having a tough day, along with the other staff who were berating us in the...

We happened to be walking along and seen this place around dinner time, it was busy with only one more table so we jumped in. The reviews were good, it had a hand written menu, and the menu rotated, everything they say to look for in a good restaurant. It was terrible.

The waitress was very upset that just the two of us took a table for four, even though it was the last table, and she seated us here, and she basically ignored us even after flagging her down multiple times. The bread they bring to the table is traditional Tuscan bread, meaning disgusting. And the pastas we ordered were so so so salty. Like they just added some cheese to their salt. I can still taste the salt.

It was a cute place, but I couldn't eat here again, I am having nightmares of the salt. Definitely one of our worst...

Of all the places we are in Florence (and there were many, some great, some tourist traps), this is the one we enjoyed the most. It felt more like an out of the way place where locals eat. Quiet, quaint. Lovely service. A very engaged staff. Prices more than fair. And the food was very good. Seasonal, so what we had might not be on the menu next month. Still, the wild boar tagliatelle was my personal favorite, along with the shaved zucchini salad. Do try to make a reservation, even though it is difficult to call them. Go at lunch and see if they have anything for dinner. Or just go to lunch, love it, and then come back for dinner!

Oh what a night. The owner is extremely nice and caring, she exudes so much positive energy! The food is delicious! The meat in red wine sauce was melting in our mouth! Grilled chicken was tasty and tender (covered in herbs and stuff). Tuscan soup was reaaally thick but again very very yummy. Tiramisu was soooo creamy and delicate! The restaurant is cozy and warm. We had a wonderful time and I'm really sad we only discovered the place on our last day in Florence! Mind you, there's little chance to get in without a reservation. It's very much worth the wait tho. I'll surely come back next time I'm in town ❤️

Osteria e Vinaino Cicalone came recommended by our Italian friend — and it truly delivered! The service, food, and atmosphere were all excellent. The Florentine steak was absolutely incredible — just a touch of salt, pepper, and olive oil, and it was perfect. I highly recommend the potatoes as a side — a great pairing! The wine complemented the meat beautifully, and the tiramisu deserves a special mention. You really have to try it yourself — words don’t do it justice! I’ll definitely be coming back to try the pasta next time.
