We had been walking around Florence on a particularly hot day and had just come down from the Piazzale Michaelangelo. It was early evening and looking for somewhere nice for dinner. Luckily we found a table for 4 outside on the pavement at this nice establishment.
The young waitress who greeted us was excellent. She spoke very good English and made us feel very much at home. She had recently returned from a vacation in Bavaria which she was happy to share with us. After ordering our drinks (I had a large local draft beer) I went for a beef strip meal with parmesan & rocket. It was delicious if rather on the modest, small size. The rest of the family had pasta and salad. I convinced our daughter to try the Negroni cocktail which, we discovered was invented in Florence. A fact that our waitress didn't know! It was delicious - packed full of alcohol.
The chilled bottled water was a reasonable 2,00€ and the ubiquitous cover charge was only 1,50€ per person.
In all, we left 60,00€ for the four of us which I thought was great given the fact that we were in Florence! Oh, and both our tired and hot dogs were well tolerated here. They offered some water which they lapped...
Read moreOur day ended with a delightful dinner at Pizzeria Ristorante I-Tarocchi. Despite the restaurant being packed, the service was impressively friendly and relatively fast, a testament to their efficient team. With both outside covered seating and ample inside seating, place was busy & happening.
We started off with a pleasant house wine, perfectly setting the tone for the meal & we paired it with simple Bruschetta which was fresh and a flavorful start. And for main course got different entrees. Wife got a classic Quattro Stagioni pizza, which was delicious and well-prepared, and i went with their creamy Risotto provola affumicata e zucchine, a rich and savory dish that was truly satisfying, and ordered a side of perfectly cooked potatoes.
To call it a night, we indulged in a truly tasty and rich Tiramisu, savoring every bite of it– a perfect end to a wonderful meal.
Beyond the excellent food and service, the restaurant itself offered a charming ambiance. I have noticed tarot paintings all over the walls. I-Tarocchi is definitely a spot we'd recommend for a delicious and authentic Florentine dining experience. Not a fancy looking restaurant but...
Read moreI was at the restaurant 04.10. With my friends we ordered 2 strawberry drink and one mango-passionfruit spritz, two pizzas and risotto. In my opinion the waiter was high, he acted like he just smoked 1kg of marijuana alone... He barely understood what we were saying, another waitress brought as drinks that were mistaken. They changed wrong drink for another wrong as well, but whatever. After a while we got to our table two pizzas, I waited for my risotto over 5 minutes. Finally I asked waiter what's happening, he was like "busy, busy"... And after a while finally came my risotto. Meals should be brought together, not partly... After all this situation a waiter gave as a bill with discount -3,5€, where coperto was 4,5€, it's a joke. Food wasn't bad, but after all this situation we didn't enjoy it at all. So, dear waiter, I would recomend to u to change a dealer or at least smoke less, but the best u can do is quit smoking and spend the money on English lessons, cause you don't understand simple...
