Unfortunately, our experience left us rather disappointed. The pricing here is quite steep, especially when you consider the quality and attention to detail on offer. We started with the Tuscan sharing platter, which was on the small and uninspired side. The charcuterie itself was decent, but the rest of the platter really didn’t justify the €32 price tag. Moving on, the lamb and almond lasagna was a letdown—the almond was barely detectable, and the lamb was both poor in quality and overcooked. It was described as lasagna, but what arrived looked more like a standard pasta dish. The grilled sliced beef was probably the highlight: cooked well and flavourful. However, the presentation left much to be desired. The lettuce was wilted and a bit battered, and the three slices of cheese on top felt like an afterthought. There was no salad dressing either, which was a shame given the quality olive oil they have on hand. Service was another weak point—slow and a bit disorganised. That said, one of the servers was very friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. Overall, we expected more given the prices and the reputation. There’s definitely room for improvement, both in the kitchen and front of house.

This friendly, local restaurant is our go-to in Florence. Long-time locals mix with savvy tourists in order to get their helping of delicious traditional Tuscan food alongside expertly selected wines. You can spend a little or spend a lot, but whatever you do, you won't leave hungry. Sometimes, the bon vivant owner, Gianni, will select the menu for us (and blow us away), and other times, Pietro (long-time Accademia waiter) will give his expert suggestions. Favourites? Pear and percorino salad, spinach and ricotta ravioli, the mushroom streudel, grilled artichokes (sooo good) and whatever fish dish they have that day. My friends rave about the meat: veal, the steak fiorentino, osso bucco, and the salumi. At Ristorante Accademia, everyone is treated like a treasured guest, and they truly want you to leave happy. This keeps us going back time and again.

A very good sit down dinner experience. Fantastic service all the way through, with friendly and attentive waiters. They had a great menu, the food was served with excellent presentation, and it was complete with a decent wine selection. Their house baked bread was absolutely fantastic, we all agreed it was the best bread we have had in Florence thus far. They had decent pasta and delicious pizza. All our appetizers hit the spot as well, and I would strongly recommend the melon with prosciutto. My rabbit dish was fantastic, really juicy, flavorful, and served with great veggies. My friend's octopus was really good as well, and our other friend said that his Florentine steak was among the best steaks he's had. All in all, it was an exceptional dinner, and we would certainly come back to further explore their diverse menu.

Regrettably, this is a tourist trap. We came because of good reviews online and proximity to the Accademia. We noticed immediately the food was very expensive relative to other trattorie in Florence. We also noted there did not appear to be any actual Italian people eating here.

The papardelle con cinghiale was overcooked and mushy, and the sauce had no flavour. The lasagnette with ragu was simiarly mushy and disappointing. One of our group ordered a spaghetti dish which was quite good, but it was the exception and not the rule. We also ordered a fennel and orange salad which was tiny and vastly overwhelming for its price. A glass of wine was far more expensive here than in other trattorie within walking distance.

Additionally, we found the service pushy and rude. At one point, the wait proposed bringing us "120 grams" of steak Florentine. I later asked and he clarified he meant 1.2 kilograms -- in other words, he had tried to sell us 70 euros worth of steak.

We had travelled in Italy for a month before visiting here, and it was truly the first and only time on our trip we felt taken advantage of....

Me, my wife and our 6 year old son came to this place only looking for coffee. Our waiter, Samuel, was so nice to us but especially with our son. He made him feel so welcomed and brought him a little snack on the house. We ended up having a fabulous meal. My wife had a delicious caprese salad and I had the lamb. Both were outstanding and, while the meal was superb, the service from Samuel was the highlight.

We ended up going back the next night as we liked it so much. We had another fantastic meal with another great server, Martin. He was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. This time, we had a delicious mushroom strudel with parmesan cream and we both devoured a beautiful branzino. Our son enjoyed his pizza. Both Martin and Samuel served and attended to us. We loved everything about this place!

This restaurant has been the #1 spot for us to eat during our entire trip to Italy. The food is spectacular and, coupled with the warmth, attentiveness and personalized service from Samuel and Martin, it's a place that's hard to beat. ...
