Worst place I've been. VERY RUDE ATTENDANTS. DON'T GO THERE IF YOU DON'T LIKE BEING MISTREATED. Tried to order at the counter in italian, ordered some vino bianco (white wine), but then said cerveza instead of birra. That was enought for an old tattoed woman, who answered: "I speak italian not spanish" and walked away without taking my order, although I was really making an effort to talk to her. The guy preparing the drinks saw the hole thing and tried to help me and took my order. But then he repassed it to the old woman again. She served the white wine I ordered and start to get the beer but stopped in the middle and went to do another thing and disappeared propositally. While I was waiting ( at least 15 minutes) my wife came and wanted to go away, when I asked why, she told me she asked a guy if she could sit in a table where people just had left. And the guy said no. But nobody but us was waiting for a table! That was it we left the place without even sitting or drinking. It really made fell bad because I was really trying to be nice, speak in italian, but they were REALLY RUDE. As a traveller it's almost impossible to learn the language from everu country you go. But normally when you are really nice and try to speak the language of the Country, even with a lot of mistakes, people try to understand you a treat you nicely. Some other guy made the same comment. I'm brazilian and if anyone goes to Brasil people try really hard to help you, and even try to speak your language. AVOID THIS PLACE. I never was treated this way in any otjer place in the world or in Italy....
Read moreThe gist: this was top 3 best brunches we’ve had in Florence.
My husband got the cheese omelet with mushrooms and potatoes while I (skeptically) got the (€17) club sandwich. Boy o boy was that one GOOD sandwich. It was deliciously slathered in mayo (maybe it was hollandaise?) and the FRIES omg so yum! Slightly crisp on the edges and oh so soft and potato-y on the inside! Not to mention it was quite the generous portion! (Peep the photo for the amount of delicious crisp bacon 🤤)
The omelet was also yum as were the potatoes (safe to say they know their ‘taters!) and I wasn’t expecting the mushrooms to also be on the side but it worked!
Finally, the Bloody Mary was very good by Italian standards. I asked for it spicier with a salt rim and I even ordered a second (it was a decadent brunch 😅)
Oh wait!! We had gotten the Santa Rosina salad to share (cus, veggies) and we were almost too full to eat it but we powered through (LOL) with that second Bloody Mary and my husband’s second glass of orange wine. It, too, was decidedly good!
We’ve been here many times over the years and it is continuously improving/evolving. We’ve always enjoyed the food, the wine, and the varied atmospheres. There is the proper restaurant (indoor and out), the more casual bar, and the super chill outside area with cool sitting areas.
PS: idk why the video of the whole meal...
Read moreThe location is a total must see! I loved it at first sight and just for sitting here it's totally fine! But beware! They are, let's say "creative" with their prices: We were a group of three, one local and two tourists. I ordered the first round of drinks (Three Campari Spritz) at the bar in English and was charged 21€ in total, so seven Euros each drink.. So far so good. My next (same) drink I ordered from the Italian waitress and she brought it to our table, I was charged 8€. "Ok" I thought, "might be more because of the service charge or something like that" but then our Italian friend ordered another Campari Spritz in Italian and was charged 5€, from the same waitress who brought me my 8€ drink 10 mins before. Our friend kind of apologized for that (as he admits) "normal practice in many Italian bars/restaurants to charge tourists higher prices than locals" but I felt ripped off by "Mama" waitress. We didn't eat there after that very intelligent scam and I would recommend to just order things that are on the small menu.
Btw Ladie: how stupid are you to charge two different prices during 10mins at the SAME Table? Don't you think we're taking about...
