After a long, hot summer day of visiting Florence, the four of us went to have dinner at this restaurant.
The waiters were extremely professional, caring and kind; I was exhausted and I made some mess with the water on the table, they were very understanding and fixed the issue, throughout the whole experience they've been very attentive and at the same time left us breathing-air.
Speaking about the food, we all ordered a different menú and I will go in order starting from the most famous one.
One menú(meant to be shared by 2 people) consisted of an appetizer, local cold-cuts, cheese and bruschettas, can't tell much about it but I tried one slice and it was good; all was accompanied by a local red wine. The main dish was the Fiorentina, about 1kg of steak. I tried a few slices and it was one of the best steaks I have ever tried in my life! As side dish there were roasted potatoes.
My menú consisted of a first dish, a grilled rebay steak and as a side I chose a vegetables salad. For starters, they brought tortellini di patate (Italian potato dumplings) with chianina (a particular breed of cattle) sauce; could be cut as easy as butter and the taste was very impressive and particular. The second dish was a grilled rebay steak, juicy and carefully seasoned I didn't even need to cut it because of how tender the meat was, while the salad was normal, great for switching tastes.
I was the only one to order the dessert and... well, the video speaks by itself. It was a chocolate mousse with pistacchio cream and a little sprinkle of crushed almonds.
It was a great experience, waiters were great, the atmosphere was amazing as we dined without the usual noise you might find in restaurants. The food was amazing and I am looking forward to dining here again next time I visit Florence!

Read moreThe experience was ok, but not great. The steak had a good taste, but it arrived slightly warm, not hot, even though it was on a stone plate. In a few minutes it had gone cold. I would usually send it back but I had a train to catch so I made due. I have visited other chains in the past so I know this is not the case always, but for the price of the meat they really should check these things. For reference I asked for a fiorentina di chianina, which is 90ish euros a kilo. The wine I drank was a villa antinori red, which was good. The roasted potatoes were delicious. The service was good, however they actively asked for tips at the checkout which I thought wasn't classy because in Italy tips aren't customary and it’s not like the service was better than other places. I know plenty of restaurants with excellent service that don't ask for tips. I still gave them a tip because otherwise I would feel bad, but I don't love when a place takes advantage of the fact that tourists visit it. I have visited other locations of this restaurant before and I know they do it in everyone of them. All in all a decent experience, but I do believe I won't be returning when I am in Florence again. I will go find another place for my cravings for fiorentina. The only thing I will miss are those...

The staff I don’t know is it because it’s a tourist spot or not but the staff are not really helpful. When I ask about recommendations about the type of steak we should go with, he answer vaguely and without genuine interest in helping us choosing a good one Another female staff is also not very nice when I complain about the bread quality and she insisted that the bread are supposed to be stale and hard like that? But eventually she did change another bread basket for me but the quality of the bread is still unacceptable Service is quite slow too, hard to call the waiter/ waitress if needed anything
The food The bread is just a disappointment as I mentioned earlier, it’s like eating rock The pasta is “al dente” as they explain, but it’s just not my preference, texture feels like raw pasta. Sauce is also bland, nothing special The only good thing about this meal is probably we choose to go with Black Angus for our Florentine Steak. It’s juicy and tender
For the price we paid, it’s just not worth it to be honest....
