'O Macarò Ristorante e Pizzeria — Restaurant in Milan

Coming from the states and my last trip being to japan I was a little surprised with my initial experience arriving to Milan and what I thought were differences in service. That being said one of the great Front Desk agents at the hotel had highly recommended this restaurant and once I entered the restaurants the team really brought such a positive energy that stayed with me for the rest of my trip! Being greeted with smile and one of the gentleman even holding on to my luggage as I enjoyed my lunch really made me for the first time feel welcome in Milan. Not only was the team exceptional and patient the food was AMAZING. Helping me find the right wine for my tastes and for my meal, even wishing me well on my trip down to napoli. I really wish I had a chance during my trip to go again, but if I am ever in Italy again I will definitely make my way to O’ Macaro again for the exceptional food...

Avevo altissime aspettative e soprattutto non mi sognerei di uscire una sera solo per passare una brutta serata e poi scriverci una recensione. Insomma, il suo commento dice più di lei che di me. Buona continuazione.

"Porta pazienza"

Una delle bottiglie disponibili in questo locale, ma anche un invito a chiunque entri.

Prenoto per 2 alle 21:15/21:30, arrivo al locale e il tavolo non mi era stato riservato. Me ne viene dato uno a caso, preparato davanti alla mia faccia e situato direttamente di fronte alla cucina, appiccicato a quello di altre due clienti.

Ma fosse stato solo questo il problema, avrei sorvolato e dato un'ottima recensione. Il cibo, in fondo, è buono. Se riuscite a mangiarne, peró.

Prendiamo un antipasto da dividere, anche il menu dice che la frittura mista è un antipasto, ma una delle due pizze arriva prima del fritto. Rimandata indietro la pizza, ci godiamo un antipastino decisamente scarso per il costo.

Tornano le pizze, una arriva corretta, l'altra sbagliata. Rimandiamo indietro anche questa, nel mentre il cuoco da dietro il bancone ci chiede se la pizza errata per un altro tavolo a noi non piacesse, così per darci un contentino. Ovviamente l'abbbiamo rifiutata. Al momento della consegna della pizza (corretta finalmente) cameriera e proprietario si spendono anche in battutine e sarcasmo, francamente da cafoni.

Per quanto riguarda il dolce, ordiniamo due dolci diversi... di nuovo uno dei due arriva e l'altro no. Cercano di rimediare correndo con un altro dolce ma anche questa volta sbagliano e devono riportare il dolce in cucina e preparare quello giusto. In pratica abbiamo cenato a turno.

Abbiamo speso circa 80€ in due per due pizze e due dolci sbagliati, una birra che era piccola ma sarebbe dovuta essere media. L'acqua e i caffè le uniche due cose giuste a questo tavolo.

Concludiamo il tutto con un "ah ma i caffè almeno ve li abbiamo offerti" E ci mancava anche. Non avremmo dovuto pagare nemmeno la cena.

We booked before arriving in Milan from the UK using the Fork app where they offered a discount and the ability to modify the booking. This was great for us as our flight was delayed so we could easily push the time forward.

Lovely warm friendly welcome and great service throughout. The food was delicious, we ordered; cured meats and fried dumplings (which were bread like doughnuts) to share. For mains we both ordered pizza, I ordered one with a tomato base, anchovies and olives and my wife had cheese, basil and tomatoes.

We noticed it seemed to be a popular spot with the locals and we loved that. Would highly recommend for an...
