Have been using the reviews of others for many years as a selection criteria for dining decisions. Never did reviews myself. It is time to give back. Taking a different tact. Since we all click the “lowest” button, I am going to review the one stars.
My world view is from that of an early 60s male, fairly well traveled, working class person from northern NJ, USA. I am using my wife’s google account because I can’t figure out how to use my own.
I had an overall two star experience on this night. The pessimistic 1 star people may have a case. The staff worked hard, the food was good, the facility was clean, my plate was empty at the end of the meal, and I believe the price to be reasonable.
However, there must have been a staffing issue given august vacations. The owner was cooking because food was coming out so slowly. The front dining area was very warm, while the back was cool. It was in the high 90s all day and the HVAC system just couldn’t cut it.
I think this was an off day due to staffing and weather issues. Overall the food was good, the owner cared, and staff were hard working. It might have been a three star experience if the crème brûlée wasn’t rushed and served before properly setting up.
The five stars might be believable.

We were here in 2019 and had an amazing time trying a “server-selected” dinner of a mixed seafood appetizer and Steak Fiorintino. It was a lot of food BUT the server and former wood and historic interior was much more inviting and enjoyable.
Now, one eats in an overly-bright dining space with very sparse decor and offers food that is “nothing to write home about.” I am not sure if a new owner/chef took over but I preferred the prior establishment and menu.
We DID have an extensive wine selection and a great red wine from Puglia. The Tiramisu helped to “raise” my dining experience but overall, I would not...
Read moreThe food was very nice! We loved the grilled lamp chop with (a kind of) almond sauce, and home-made paccheri pasta with cod fish. Highly recommended. The atmosphere was good. If you need a WiFi, please ask for the table in the front section. The service was very nice too. There was some miscommunication due to the language and they kindly changed the plate for us to be what we ordered. The waiters were attentive and polite. They offered some complimentary small dishes while we had to wait for the paccheri. We were much impressed and will definitely recommend to friends. By the way the place offers food from south Italy and seems to be...
