A wonderful and authentic Milanese experience at La Posteria di Nonna Papera!
After a long train journey from Northern Germany, we arrived in Milan feeling a bit weary, but excited to explore. Following a relaxing stroll through the nearby park and the charming surrounding area, we discovered this small gem of a restaurant – and what an absolute delight it turned out to be.
La Posteria di Nonna Papera offers a warm, traditional atmosphere that feels like a welcome embrace. The interior is classic rather than modern – intimate, cozy, and full of character. The staff were incredibly kind and patient throughout our visit, and their hospitality made us feel immediately at home.
The menu is presented digitally via smartphone and also available in English, which is very convenient. However, the real highlight is the personal touch: the daily specials are explained directly by the staff, and they take the time to describe each dish in detail and answer any questions with genuine care.
On recommendation, we had the Risotto alla Milanese paired with Ossobuco – a combination not explicitly listed on the menu, but kindly prepared for us nonetheless. The result was simply outstanding. The saffron-infused risotto was perfectly al dente, rich and fragrant, and the ossobuco – tender, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection – complemented it beautifully. It was a truly exceptional dish and a shining example of Milanese cuisine at its best.
To accompany the meal, we were offered a regional red wine from the Milan area, which paired wonderfully with both the risotto and the meat – a thoughtful and spot-on recommendation.
As is customary in Italy, water and bread were served alongside, and everything was presented with care and attention to detail. For dessert, we chose the classic Tiramisù, which was also excellent – creamy, well-balanced, and clearly homemade.
The pricing was very reasonable given the quality of both the food and the experience.
In short: a fantastic, heartfelt dining experience that stood out not only for the exceptional food, but also for the warmth and attentiveness of the service. A true hidden treasure in Milan – highly recommended, and certainly a place we...

Absolutely lovely place, neither me nor my girlfriend had a single complaint, made my day. (I can not remember how much I paid exactly, it's not too cheap, but prices obviously depend on what you pick, since you could eat 4/5 courses if...
