La Carbonella is an absolute gem — a true testament to the passion and warmth of a family-owned Italian restaurant. From the moment we stepped in, we were treated like family. The ambiance is rustic and charming, with the perfect balance of cozy and elegant.

The food? Out of this world. The carbonara was easily the best I’ve ever had — rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of pancetta and pecorino. No shortcuts here — just traditional Italian excellence.

And the steak… wow. Cooked to perfection, juicy, and incredibly flavorful with a gorgeous sear. You can tell they take pride in sourcing quality ingredients and preparing them with real care. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience felt personal and heartfelt. La Carbonella is more than just a meal — it’s a celebration of authentic Italian cooking done right.

I had a terrible experience with this restaurant, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. From the moment I walked in, the service was slow and unprofessional. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, making the entire dining experience frustrating.

The food was equally disappointing—bland, overpriced, and clearly not fresh. My meal arrived cold, and when I brought it to their attention, they barely made an effort to fix the issue. To make matters worse, the restaurant was poorly maintained, with dirty tables and an overall unclean atmosphere.

Alur, io sono milanese e ovviamente ho fatto il giro delle trattorie di Milano. Questa trattoria, locale storico di Milano (l'altro giorno c'era un cantante famoso), l'ho scoperta perché vicino all'università. È vero che siamo in centro, e tutto è caro (anche un piatto scongelato, ahimè), ma, se spendo, a me piace mangiare bene! Ecco, questa fiorentina e gli spaghetti alla carbonara sono i migliori che io abbia mai mangiato! Che dire? TOP! 5 stelle al cibo, 4 stelle alla location perché è veramente bella, ricercata e... sovraccarica (come deve essere una trattoria, ma questa addirittura con pezzi da collezione) Unica pecca: è troppo buia e non ha i posti fuori, ma perfetta per le giornate fredde come quella di oggi. Infine, il servizio: 5 stelle a Santo (detto Rudy), l'anima del locale, un oste che sa fare il suo lavoro e che accoglie e intrattiene gli ospiti, insomma.... un personaggio!
