A fellow traveler recommended Rugantinino, which was located about 50 minutes away from our hotel. Despite the distance, we found the travel to be worth it. Unfortunately, upon our arrival at around 7:25 pm, the lady at the front desk was quite rude and informed us that the restaurant was closed, promptly shooing us away. However, I returned at 7:29 pm and was again told that the restaurant was closed, but this time she asked us to wait for a few minutes. I found her behavior quite unprofessional. Nonetheless, our waiter, Mohammad, went above and beyond to make our dinner a pleasant experience (reason for the 5 instead the 3 I would have given). We decided to order the lasagna for our appetizer and the seabass and combo dei Florida for our main course, accompanied by the Roma bianchi wine. The food and wine were delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Absolutely 0/5!! Unprofessional and rude. We booked our table for 21:00 and I asked via Google if we can order from the ordinary menu, not the New Year's Eve (per person). The assured me that of course we could order from 19:30 - 21:00. When we went to the restaurant and sat at our table the brought us only the menu of the New year's eve. They informed us at a very rude tone that we do not have the right to order what we want, but only from the specific menu! The hour was 21:05 and the rude guy was yelling at us in front of NY daughter! We left asap,I do not recommend it!👎

Five years ago, I had the best gnocchi I had ever had (it continues to be the case to date) here. Was nearby so sought the place out again, and it didn't disappoint! The food is excellent, and the restaurant is situated right next to the medieval gate and has a great old world view. The staff were absolutely lovely (gave great recommendations, were very attentive, and were able to communicate in English). It's now my go-to place whenever I come back to Milan!

Superficially it looked nice when my family and I arrived although it wasn't the most warm welcome. Already when our two glasses of wine (1 white and 1 red), the unprofessionalism was revealed: the red wine was served at room temperature, which was 35 degrees celsius! At least 15 degrees above what even a mediocre sommelier would have served it. Then we got our primi, two tonnarelli alla checca: sufficient pasta, tomatoes and fresh basil; but very little buffalo mozzarella and in contrast, a complete soaking/bathing in oil. There was about 1/2 dl in the bottom when I had finished eating - gross! The worst dish though was my daughter's cesar salat, which consisted of old/unfresh iceberg with brown/longterm oxidised edges, a few pieces of diced chicken, okay shavings of cheese on which an overload of pure mayonnaise was ofloaded. Not a sign of anchovies in the dressing, which is pne of the signature ingredients in a cesar salafd........The crispy croutons was changed for big chunks of mediocre bread. Very disappointing, and the worst attempt at a cesar salad any of us had ever seen and tasted! The fish, lamb and beef secondi were okay, but not more. The grilled aubergine was completely charred on one side - not surprisingly the one that faced the plates...... Worst meal in Italy ever! The service was between poor...

DO NOT GO!!! RUDE STAFF!!! Having moved to Milan a few months ago, I took my friends from the United States to the restaurant. One of them had just arrived that morning and I decided to take them out to this restaurant for their first night in Italy. I asked for some menus in English as my friends do not speak Italian and and Italian menu for myself as I speak Italian. The waiter told my friends, in Italian and in a very rude manner, that they need to learn Italian. We ordered and the waiter did not say one word to use. Instead, he gave us a dirty look and walked away. After eating, which the food wasn't even that great, I had to ask the waiter twice for the bill - the second time after having waited ten minutes. Mind you, I was speaking perfect Italian the entire time to the waiter and he was extremely rude. I will never go back to this restaurant EVER AGAIN and will never recommend it to anyone: Italian or foreigner. This is not Italian hospitality AT ALL!!!! To top it off, we discovered the prices in the English menu were more expensive than on the Italian menu for...

The service was far from good. We asked the very flirty waiter multiple times to order drinks when we sat down to get started after a long trip to Milano. He spent over 30 minutes prepping the table without taking our order first. The food arrived well over an hour after we had sat down. And the last person got served 45 minutes after the second to last person got served. Most of the drinks and wine was served after the food came in the table in very random order. After a while the waiter mentioned we should have more patience as he was not serving Chinese style?!?!?! The restaurant tried to make up for it at the end. But that was just too late. You know the feeling when the whole meal and everything you order is all about how long till the waiter responds and how long before it arrives at the table?! The food and quality was alight. We have luckily experienced great service else where in Milano. Spend your time and...
