Ever wanted to find the best of Milanese cuisine in one single restaurant ? Then La Dogana del Buongusto is the place to sample it :) The restaurant inside is absolutely charming with a fine balance of classy and cosy with a divine touch of traditionnal design. The waiters are absolutely professional, very nice, helpful and absolutely not pretentious at all even for a nice restaurant like this one. We started by a surprise amuse bouche made of fried small fish and bread from the bakery owned by the father of the owner of the resraurant. We took a traditional risotto alla milanese, a risotto with veal cheeks, a polenta with egg plant and gorgonzola, a under vacuum cooked pheasant, for dessert a lemon tart and a chocolate moelleux. The food was simply astonishing and the risottos and desserts were probably the best we have ever tasted in their respective categories. The rest was also amazingly good. We also had 2 glasses of wine (lombardia pinot noir). We particularly appreciated that even the wine are only from the region. And we also took 2 bottles of water (750 mL). The menu is not overpriced given the amount and the quality of the food, we paid 113 euros for every thing mentionned above (2 primi, 2 secondi, 2 desserts, wine, water) This was probably one of the nicest dinning memory we ever had and we will be back to taste more of the milanese cuisine. And warm thank you to the staff of the restaurant for this memorable...
Read more10/10!! Nothing to say. First of all the service was amazingg ! They were kind, cheerful, and very helpful. We ordered a meatball appetizer, which was delicious. They also brought us a small grilled fish as an amuse-bouche, and it was absolutely perfect !
For the main course, we decided to share two dishes: osso buco with risotto and cotoletta with potatoes. They served the meal like a tasting menu: first, each of us received a half portion of the osso buco with risotto, followed by a half portion of the cotoletta. The half portions that we ate were as generous as full portions in another restaurant i guess ! The osso buco was excellent, and it was my first time trying Milanese risotto in Italy. I can honestly say I’ve never tasted anything like it in another country. It simply wasn’t the same in france. I loved it, and I highly recommend trying it in the this right place.
The cotoletta was juicy, tender, and crispy at the same time. I loved it and would come back just for the cotoletta. It was also a huge portion. I think both dishes could easily be shared if you also order a few starters. We wanted to try everything since we didn’t have much time, and I don’t regret it. really enjoyed it all. Highly...
Read moreMy wife and I went to this restaurant via recommendation and I have to say it was fantastic. The waiter that greeted us smiled and was friendly, he took us to our seat and we noticed that the restaurant was full of locals and we were the only tourists which is always a good sign.
The menu was mainly in italian and the waiter helped us both through the menu and even recommending what to drink with each course. The food was flavoursome, simple and rustic but absolutely delicious which is just what you expect for local neighbourhood italian restaurant.
The red wine he recommended was good the waiter let me take a picture and have ordered a case of it!
We would definitely go back if we go to Milan again and will recommend to friends and family.
Keep up...
