A Disappointing Experience at Trafilata Santa Tecla: Fresh Pasta That Doesn't Live Up to Its Name!

We were hoping for an authentic Italian experience at Trafilata Santa Tecla, a restaurant in Milan that promised fresh pasta. Unfortunately, our visit was a major disappointment and left a bitter taste, literally.

Starting with what should have been their specialty, the fresh pasta turned out to be of questionable quality. The texture was mediocre and lacked the freshness and flavor one expects from handmade pasta.

The pesto was another low point. Completely tasteless, it seemed to lack the fresh and vibrant ingredients that characterize this classic Italian sauce. It was like eating pasta with a soulless green sauce.

But the worst part of the experience was, without a doubt, the carbonara. Not only did it not resemble an authentic carbonara, but it also had an undefined flavor and, to top it off, it was spicy! This was especially unacceptable since we had clearly specified that the dish was for children. A mistake of this magnitude demonstrates an unforgivable lack of attention and care.

In summary, Trafilata Santa Tecla did not meet our expectations at all. The fresh pasta was not up to par, the pesto lacked flavor, and the carbonara was a disaster, even proving unsuitable for children due to the unexpected spiciness. There are many other options in Milan to enjoy authentic and delicious Italian pasta. I would recommend looking elsewhere to avoid such a...

You can choose your pasta with your condiment, but except one, you need to pay 1 or 2€.

For the starter I had the pulled pork which was amazing, very well seasoned!

For the second plate I had the tagliatelle with bacon and egg which is the 'carbonara style'.

Not what I expected, the pasta was al dente but the condiments were lacking of flavour.

The coffee was awful, very very watery.

Overall the place is good for their location, nothing special.

At least the staff was good.

Locale veramente ottimo! Già al primo impatto è decisamente piacevole: linee moderne, colori caldi. E' un buonissimo posto per un pranzo o una cena. Ideale anche per i pranzi di lavoro, dato che il personale è rapido e presente. Ho trovato il posto sempre pulito e con personale cordiale e accogliente. Si può mangiare all'interno, ma anche in alcuni tavolini sulla strada (ed è molto piacevole, all'ombra, senza traffico). Pensando al cibo, la proposta del locale è interessante perché propone ottimi piatti a prezzi contenuti, soprattutto considerando la zona: via Santa Tecla, è proprio in centro a Milano, a due passi dal Duomo. Eppure, pur con una spesa contenuta, si esce sazi e soddisfatti. E sì - perché come si può intuire dal nome del locale - la proposta è prevalentemente di pasta. Si può scegliere tra sei diversi formati di pasta, che il cliente abbina al sugo di sua scelta. Penso sempre che specializzarsi sia una buona cosa: e qui la pasta è allo stato dell'arte, viene usato semolato del Senatore Cappelli, per il quale direi non servono presentazioni. Comunque, piatti sempre gustosi (ottimi anche i sughi) e perfette anche le porzioni (ideali per saziare senza appesantire). Vi sono poi anche alcuni altri piatti, ovviamente: porto a esempio una parmigiana di melanzane che è uno spettacolo. Ve ne sono anche altri, ovviamente non moltissimi, ma tutti davvero buonissimi. Ribadisco, personalmente preferisco una offerta non esageratamente ampia, ma che abbia prodotti di ottima qualità, e questo è il caso. Non mancano dei dessert e un ottimo caffè (ginseng compreso). Si esce soddisfatti, senza dubbio: se andate cercando un buon piatto di pasta (e non solo!) fatto come si deve, in centro a Milano, questo è il locale giusto. Cibo gustoso e - soprattutto - di qualità; luogo molto gradevole; personale cortese e attento; prezzo più che adeguato. Davvero un'ottima esperienza! PS: non manca anche una particolare attenzione all'ecologia, tra l'altro: piatti, posate e bicchieri sono compostabili. In più, niente bottigliette d'acqua, bensì caraffe ricaricabili.
