Yesterday me and my husband checked into the hotel. Unfortunately our booking( 4 Nights) was made as a double room by mistake! We’ ve approached the reception to change it for a single, but unfortunately there was no room available! They assured us that it will be available tomorrow. We agreed, but asked to at least connect 2 beds together, they said will do now for sure! ... But…. no, nothing was done that day and the next day also:( Then the next day in the morning we asked the reception again... they said, ok! But, oops, they didn’t do anything again. and this evening we asked again, they said that these were no rooms, and we wouldn’t move the beds either, since there was a lamp on it🤷♀️ there wasn’t any lamp there... In the end, the beds were moved by ourselves! The location of the hotel is good, but the service is terrible unfortunately! From the very first minutes of communication with the reception desk, I did not get a very good impression, since there is unfortunately no care or attention to clients! My advice to you! demand everything from the beginning, and do not check into the room until you check everything in advance! And to be honest, the price and quality of the hotel do not match! the room is small, the doors and furniture are shabby.. It’s better to walk than to overpay for a hotel just because of the location. U fortunately we cant find other hotel to move for such a limited time, as all our 10 days vacation was planned and scheduled in advance:( Moreover we have to come back to this hotel again for another 2 nights after pur 2 days trip to Portofino. We will be back to Italy again for sure, but definitely not to this hotel! ery disappointed ☹️The price 376 Eur per night (2.230 EUR) for this hotel is not worth it!
Hello! Thank you for the reply.. But … I prefer to believe to the actions and deeds rather than words! In my opinion, the hotel staff need to have a training to improve the way of communication with hotel residents. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful, and they seemed to take pleasure in making our stay as uncomfortable as possible. Yesterday we’ ve asked for the iron, they told us that they have steamer only. We said that it’s absolutely okay, we need it just for 10 minutes… and we still didn’t get it. It’s also okay to say that you don’t have it, or the hotel doesn’t provide the iron/steamer for the residents… But just say NO instead of promising and never do. And we will not waste our time for the waiting! And every time when we call to the reception/ room service I fell like they are actively trying to make me feel unwelcome, which made for an extremely unpleasant stay overall. Moreover, just 10 minutes ago we are back to the hotel, absolutely tired and exhausted after long walking… wanted to have a shower, but hand wash and shower gel, and vanity kit after 3 nights staying in the hotel, are finished. We have only hotel shampoo left in our bath room, as we have our own. and we never used the hotel one. We’ ve approached the room servise to provide with the the requested bath staff… where they said that they don’t have vanity kit! So finally, after 10 minutes the guy brings shampoo only ! as he was informed by his colleague 🤷♀️ Then when we explained him what we need exactly, and the fact that we had the vanity kit in the bath room on our first day of checking in! Finally we could have a shower after 1 Hr. only due to the fact of our long negotiations with the hotel servise staff. Yes we are checking out tomorrow as we planned to visit another city in Italy. And unfortunately we are coming again for another 2 nights as the payment was done in advance! But Im sure that we never come back to this hotel...
Read moreWe would like to share this very unpleasant experience with others.
On the way to Milan, me and my friend decided to look for a good hotel in the city center.
We found this hotel on booking with which we were fascinated with the appearance and location.
We called the hotel two hours before arriving at the hotel to arrange accommodation and we asked for discount.
We were contacted by a very friendly girl who said that they had vacancies and that we would get a 100 Euro discount because we called the hotel directly.
I asked her to make a reservation in my friend's name. She said she arranged the reservation and that they were expecting us.
We arrived at the hotel a little later due to transportation, i.e. we were one hour late than the scheduled time.
When we got to the hotel, the girl we talked to was not working, because her working hours had ended.
We have experienced the worst approach to a guest ever in this hotel.
We told the receptionist about our reservation and explained the whole situation.
He said he didn't have our reservations. We explained the situation again and we said that his colleague told us that they had plenty of rooms, that is, that we could come and that she had made a reservation.
To all that, the receptionist said that he had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that we talked to his work colleague and that we could go to another hotel!!!!!!!!
We were very disappointed and angry at his unkind response.
At the reception, we looked at the booking situation and there were still 10 rooms available!!!!!
We asked him again to make a reservation for us because it says on the booking that they have free rooms.
To all that, he said that they had no rooms available. WE WERE VERY VERY ANGRY, we made a reservation at the reception through booking so that they would let us into the hotel at all. He said that they don't give discounts and that the only way to reserve a room is by booking because he can't make a reservation any other way.
A SHAME FOR SUCH A GOOD HOTEL. WE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED IN OUR LIFE THAT SOMEONE TAKES US BACK FROM A HOTEL WHERE THERE ARE AVAILABLE ROOMS AND SOMEONE TELLS US AT MIDNIGHT THAT WE CAN LOOK FOR ANOTHER HOTEL. THIS IS NOT A HOSTEL THIS IS A HOTEL. THE PRICES ARE NOT AS IN HOSTELS AND OTHER SMALLER HOTELS. THIS DISRESPECT IS UNACCEPTABLE !!!!!
The next day we were looking for the hotel manager, who was away for the holidays. There was a friendly girl at the reception who apologized for all the inconvenience we experienced. That same receptionist who almost kicked us out of the hotel didn't even say sorry.
From the reception, we got drinks to build in the bar on the roof and chocolates, which was fine from them, although a serious hotel cannot afford this shame.
Due to the holiday, we did not have a place in the restaurant for breakfast. and we could wait for 15 minutes.
The next day we ordered tea in the room for which we waited for more than an hour. The girl who brought us tea said that she WORKS ALONE IN SUCH A HOTEL AND THAT SHE CAN'T GET EVERYTHING ALONG BY HERSELF. WE RETURNED THAT TEA BECAUSE WE WAITED TOO LONG.
SHAME FOR SUCH A LUXURIOUS HOTEL THAT DOES NOT HAVE A GOOD ORGANIZATION OR STAFF, STILL WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A...
Read moreIt’s really unfortunate that we didn’t have a great experience at this beautiful hotel. In our month long trip in Italy traveling from city to city, we were the most excited about ending our trip in Milan (6 nights) at a beautiful hotel near the city center.
I’ll start with the unsatisfactory points so you don’t have to sift through a long paragraph.
• If you need wifi for work or have limited data, do not stay here you won’t have ANY working wifi at least not on the upper floors from my experience (we were on the 8th floor). The best reception we got was in the hallway. If you don’t like sitting on the floor of a hallway with a laptop, I don’t recommend staying here. (Main reason for just 2 stars instead of 3.5 imo) • If you don’t book your reservation including breakfast, it’s $25/person. Outrageous, when a cappuccino and croissant is €3 just down the street (€1.50 cappuccino & €1.50 croissant, standing at the counter). Don’t waste your money because the city is already very expensive. Go shopping with that amount in breakfast money instead! :) • Our TV didn’t work, it took multiple calls and 2 full days to fix it. Again we didn’t have wifi so a working TV would have been nice after a long day of walking the city. • We made reservations at the beautiful hotel rooftop restaurant for our anniversary at the lobby. We arrived at our reserved time slot and they didn’t let us in, saying we didn’t have a reservation (kind of embarrassing when you’re all dressed up and people are watching you be turned away..) We had to go up and down the building from the lobby (where we requested the reservation a day before) multiple times until they finally “found” our reservation. It was a lovely dinner food was amazing and expensive but we didn’t mind splurging for our anniversary. (Get the Beef Wellington, so good!) • The cleaning staff is extremely kind and clearly extremely overworked so don’t blame them if your rooms don’t get clean until about 4pm. The management can definitely make sure adjustments ease the load for efficiency since they are one of the bigger hotels in the area and definitely not cheap. These poor girls were so stressed and overworked.. • Lastly, when checking out, don’t be surprised if they charge the city tax per night (which is normal) but also per person, so make sure you budget for that because they don’t indicate on their poster or sitting reservation. • Lastly, Don’t be too excited for great A/C in your room. The hallways are really nice and cool though, so is the lobby. We left our room door open sometimes for the cool air to come in on the really hot days.
Positives: • It’s a clean and nice lux hotel to stay in. • Beds are comfortable. • The waterfall shower is wonderful! • We had a beautiful view of the city!
Hope this helps someone, I wish I knew about the wifi before we booked our stay here. For the price we paid, there are way better hotels to stay in near the area. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to this hotel in our next...
