Venchi Cioccolato e Gelato, Milano City Life — Restaurant in Milan

We went (2 people) to Venchi at Tre Torri on 30/12/2019 with the wish to eat a good icecream. The experience we had was quite terrible. The shop is run by three ladies, all very unprofessional and behaving like theirs is not a job but just an annoying way to spend their time. We asked for two icecream and two chocolates. During the payment process, the lady at the cashier (a young lady with long blond hair), received a call from someone and started getting very frustrated and nervous, probably for personal reasons. So, she forgot to give us the chocolates we asked for and that we already paid. The ice cream flavor we choose were: cream, gianguiotto, stracciatella, strawberry, tiramisu and pistacchio (3 flavor for each cup). The strawberry was just sugar and added aroma, the pistacchio and tiramisu had a taste that required 2-3 minutes of deep concentration to feel it and all other flavors were totally tasteless.

Venchi started few years ago selling good quality ice creams, but today the quality dropped dramatically and their products are just low level. Needless to say that the 9.76€ spent (4€ for each cup + 1.76€ for each chocolate) were the last ones I’ll ever give to this company.

Un'ampia scelta di cioccolato e gusti gelato prodotti secondo la tradizione artigianale italiana e serviti in un ambiente elegante e rilassato, immerso in City Life, l'innovativa area di Milano. un'esperienza gustativa unica, che declina il cioccolato in tutte le sue varianti per regalare momenti di pausa buoni, salutari e gustosi. tanto tempo fa, anzi a cominciare nel 1878 fu Silviano Venchi, un ragazzo torinese di 20 anni così innamorato del cioccolato da spendere i suoi risparmi in due calderoni di bronzo e cominciare a fare esperimenti prima nel proprio appartamento e poi in un piccolo locale in via degli Artisti in borgo Vanchiglia a Torino.

Quegli esperimenti andarono così bene che dopo pochi anni nacquero le Nougatine, bon bon di nocciole del Piemonte tritate e caramellate ricoperte di cioccolato extra fondente (il consiglio è rileggere questa storia gustandone una) e la Venchi Spa, “...la più elegante cioccolateria in Piemonte..." nominata tra l’altro "Fornitrice della Real Casa”.

Oggi sulle confezioni non c’è più lo stemma reale, ma di quell’epoca rimangono la passione, la meticolosità e il coraggio di sperimentare. É così che sono nati tutti quei cioccolatini dai nomi fantasiosi, i Chocoviar, i Tartufini, i Gianduiotti, i Cremini, le tavolette, la crema Suprema, il Gelato e le uova Gourmet. Good beverages and Gelato are as good as usual. Staffs are super efficient and customer focus, especially Angela. Angela pays attention to every single details. I cannot believe the 2 staffs can run the whole store in City Life Milano in such efficient manner. Although they work non-stop, Angela can keep her smile and attentive service no matter how super busy she is. It is the customer-orientated service that we like her and the shop so much!
