After 5 days in Naples and countless pizza and pasta for lunch and dinner, we finally found it; the best spot in Naples. I can't tell you how many bland pizzas we tasted to get here, but it was all worth it when we decided to step foot into Borgo Antico to get shelter from a thunderstorm and put food into our bellies. We were greeted with a smile and told to sit wherever we liked. We were the first customers of the day and pleasantly surprised by the upscale surroundings. We ordered the Diavola pizza (this was our 4th Diavola pizza during our visit) and the Spaghetti Carbonara pasta. The pizza was what we had been searching for our entire trip. The dough was incredibly flavourful and the olive oil and chili pepper drizzle was an amazing touch. The spaghetti carbonara was creamy, unlike many others we tried which we found to be dry. We were so impressed with our meals that, being our last day in Naples, we decided to go back the same day for dinner. We were greeted with the same smile and the man (the owner, I'm assuming) remembered us and laughed that we had returned again the same day. We were so impressed with our previous meals that we ordered the Diavola pizza again but we made a special order for our pasta to turn it into a lobster carbonara. This was definitely an unusual for request for them but they obliged and made it happen. It turned out absolutely amazing and the chef even came out to check with us that we were happy with it. I can't say enough good things about this place. From the kind and friendly service, to the upscale atmosphere, to the best meals we had in Naples. Thank you...
Read moreFriendly and professional service, and very good food. We had the fried squid, someone mentioned in reviews this was frozen, I'd add that the menu actually indicates which ingredients are frozen - but if frozen from fresh it can be very good, and it was - tender and in a light batter, and did taste fresh. We had beef, in different styles, both tagliata, cooked well and tasty, juicy meat. We also enjoyed a very nice bottle of regional Campania wine. A nice setting, locals came in also, and some of the other dishes and pizzas looked good. Good quality, not cheap but completely on a par for the area asides for a couple of cheaper more casual places. An enjoyable,...
Read moreI got a recommendation for this restaurant from a family friend that has lived in Naples for several years and my partner and I were not disappointed! We were greeted and served by a warm and inviting man that recommended a delicious red wine to our food. My partner had a pizza and I had a tagliata. The best pizza we’ve tried and a wonderful cooked beef! Such an cozy Italian atmosphere. We came back the very next night to have squid clams, pasta and gnocchi with white wine and tiramisu and limoncello for dessert. Delicious! Still...
