I'm sorry to say we did not have a good experience. We came with two kids who had a margherita, which was okay, but in Italy, we expected better and had had better in small countryside pizzerias. That was about it. Carbonara my sister ordered was disgusting, we both had stomach issues after and nobody could finish it. I was blown away by it having cream in it, which is sacrilegious to me. The bacon pieces were inedible. I can make a way better one as its supposed to be made with eggs and cheese alone. My "crispy" salad was simple, sure, but the becon was not very good, there was no sauce (just sour cream? Ugh.) or seasoning on it, the tomatos weren't good. I didn't know it was possible to ruin a simple salad. Couldn't finish it. I don't know if locals know what to eat there and what to avoid, or if the restaurant treats turists as ignorant morons and make "special" versions for them, but either way I'm so disappointed. We were so happy to finally sit and rest and eat some real Italian food and left hungry, angry, and, frankly, sad. The waiter offered to bring something else, but we were not interested in eating anything more, so we left. They didn't offer to take it off the bill. We paid 40 euros for all of it, and had we not been tired, we would have asked the carbonara be removed from the bill, but we just wanted to get...
Read moreIl Peperoncino Birichino was an excellent food experience. We had the bufala alla caprese, risotto alla pescatora, and the Genovese alla napoletana. We also enjoyed a bottle of the house white which was a delightful Napoli local wine. If you are in Napoli the pasta genovese is a must try. When the pasta first arrived it was under cooked and slightly crunchy. We told the waiter and they took the plate and came back with a new one within a few minutes, perfectly al dente. They also gave us a discount and some meloncello to make up for the mistake. It was the best pasta I have ever had. The mozzarella was so fresh and the seafood risotto was delicious. The atmosphere is also beautiful. Definitely try this place, you...
Read moreFood was great, but the service left a few raised eyebrows. The waiter (already described in one of the previous reviews) told us they don't have the beer we wanted from the menu, so we ordered from those he said they did have and still, he brought us a different, inferior beer, that wasn't even on the menu. A fork was missing on the table, we got no glasses for the beer. In the end he told us the tip is not included in the bill, when so called 'coperto' is part of every bill in italy and yes it was on ours too, he still had the audacity to literally ask in a bit of demanding way for extra tip three times..for what?! Then he ironically thanked us for nothing and rushed to...
