Honestly, our experience here was outrageously terrible. From subpar food to rude wait staff, it was our worst meal of the entire trip. We found the restaurant on the Michelin website, and it received positive reviews, so we were excited to try it. Upon arrival, we were seated at a small table and given menus. My mom ordered first and asked for the oysters (I think, some shellfish). The waiter, an Asian-Italian male, asked what else she would like, and rolled his eyes and sighed when she said that was it. When it was my turn to order, I asked for the "Mixed fruit plate" and a pasta dish with a different sauce. He said that they couldn't do that, which was surprising, considering most of the restaurants we went to in Italy make everything fresh, so small changes are usually easily accommodated. Still, at this point, we weren't too perturbed. We received our fried fish cubes, which needed salt (probably an American thing) but were good. Next he brought out the Mixed Fruit Plate, which consisted of two slices of melon (literally, two wedges). When I asked if this was the only fruit that came with the MIXED Fruit Plate, the waiter got angry and said that this was the only single fruit they had in the whole restaurant (despite there also being strawberries and pineapple on the menu). Through the rest of dinner, anytime we asked for anything, more water, wine, ect, we were met with eye rolls and even "why do you need _ with your meal." It was very odd and bizarre. We were all flummoxed as to what was happening. The table next two us, two young girls who were also not Italian (or American), had similar issues when asking for espresso they had ordered and been billed for but not received. There was also a female waiter who did not speak English (understandably, as we were in Italy) who the male waiter kept grumbling to whenever we asked for something. All in all, it was an unpleasant experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant for either its food or its service. We speculate that it changed hands recently, as our experience contrasted so starkly with those of...
Read moreWe ordered 2 pizza’s, they were both very good , we liked them very much but when asked for a bit of cheese we saw that they added 2 euro extra to the bill for that little extra cheese! For our child we took the children’s menu, small pizza margherita + fries + 1/2 water + dessert. Very good price for this (only 7 euro) the fries were very delicious, the pizza was also fine but the chocolate cake they brought for him was smelling old, had been in the fridge for days and fell immediately apart. I asked the waiter how their tiramisu was, he said excellent, when brought I took a bite, it was definitely many days old, watery with funny smell to it. I gave him quietly the message that I did not like it and he started asking questions vey loudly and unprofessionally in front of other customers. I said it’s ok maybe I’m wrong but this is not fresh, he said oh no it’s, the lady made it 35 minutes a go, I said maybe but I still don’t want it sorry! Then he said no no it is fresh come and see!! louder and louder, come look comeeeee 🤣🤣🤣 she is making it right now, fresh fresh now! You could see he was lying. It’s unprofessional to argue with the customer like this specially in front of others. So don’t take the tiramisu here! About the extra charge I read from other reviews that they just add randomly to the final price, for us it was the case as well, you can see the price on the menu is different than the bill BUT to be honest the prices are lower than others we have been to so it’s fine, seems like they want it this way than just put the correct price on the menu. Also the coperto (service charge) used to be there accompanied with some bread and olive oil in the past but that also we don’t see much anymore everywhere. All together not bad at all, I gave 2 stars for the service because of the argument and the price scamming, of course this was done by the older lady at the register who was not in the mood for a friendly chat at all 😜 BTW inside of the restaurant is...
Read moreI am from the states but lived in this region of Italy for years, so I am familiar with how things work down here. I was in Naples for work and found this pizzeria. The pizza was great! I have high pizza standards and this definitely met them. I was planning on returning until I was ready to leave. I asked for my check, multiple times. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for it even though they weren’t busy at all. Then when I went to pay, the receipt did not reflect the prices displayed on the menu. There is a menu placemat on each table, and I had been looking at that when placing my order. They also hand you a folding menu, but I was happy to read the one on the table, so I disregarded it. I questioned the lady at the register why the prices were different and she told me the prices are in the folded menu. I asked why the prices on the placemat menu are different and her response to me was that, “we can write whatever we want on the table. You were presented with this menu.” She was unbelievably rude. I told her that was a disappointing way to do business and was obviously meant to screw over tourists. It’s not okay to have two different prices on display and charge whichever you feel like at a given time. It was disappointing because up until that exchange, I would have most certainly returned. On my way out, I questioned the owner who was standing nearby about this. He had a much better disposition than the other lady. He explained that when the pandemic hit they raised prices but they already had lots of those placemats printed and they couldn’t afford to reprint them, so they still use them rather than waste them. I still don’t think the practice is okay and patrons need to be told to disregard the menu prices on the placemat. However, he was at least reasonable, kind, and apologetic in his explanation. I still won’t...
