Terrazza Calabritto — Restaurant in Naples

Highly recommended. I went to this restaurant because of the good reviews online and it really exceeded my expectations. Word of warning - it is a classy place (not pretentious) but people dressed very smartly. I was in T-Shirt and jeans and felt a bit out of place. No matter, the service was excellent and our waiter went out of his way to make this a fantastic experience, not just a meal.

Food wise, the Crab pasta (Spaghetti con la granzeola) was amazing. Like nothing I had eaten in Naples before. I had originally ordered a risotto (with Strawberries) I think, but they had run out so they recommended this dish as it was their most popular. I can definitely see why. At the end of the meal, the restaurant was filling up and our waiter invited us downstairs to the reception to enjoy some chocolates and tea which he didn't charge us for. Intitolerei l'esperienza in questo ristorante: "FUMO NEGLI OCCHI"! Esperienza tutt'altro che positiva a cominciare dall'ansia trasmessa dai camerieri, che di continuo ti riempiono i bicchieri al fine di farti finire quanto prima le bottiglie sia di acqua che di vino. Sulla raffinatezza del locale tanto esaltata in svariate recensioni, davvero non capisco dove sia: elementi come atmosfera (arredi, luci e musica di sottofondo) direi che nn sono minimamente state prese in considerazione in questo locale. Speravo che almeno la qualità dei piatti potessero compensare le pecche summenzionate e invece anche su quello c'è tanto da ridire e migliorare. Il tris di crudo con le due tartare e lo scampo crudo, al pari di un qualunque altro discreto ristorante, le linguine al pomodoro col granchio, tralasciando la presentazione per nulla affatto presentabile (sembrava quasi che le linguine uscissero dalle viscere dell'animale), davvero imbarazzante, sia per le linguine scotte, per i pomodorini di barattolo e crudi, per la porzione abbondante al pari di una trattoria per camionisti, che per il condimento che era per conto proprio. Se in un ristorante a Napoli nn si è in grado di cucinare nemmeno un piatto di linguine, direi che codesto ristorante nn merita di trovarsi a Napoli. Sul risotto con agrumi e bottarga preso dai miei amici-commensali, non posso pronunciarmi giacché nn ho assaggiato il piatto, ma a detta di uno dei due, l'abbinamento dolce e super saporito della bottarga, vista la porzione abbondante, è risultato dopo un po' disgustoso. Anche sul dolce la creatività dello chef non ha dato buoni risultati: un babbá con frutti di bosco surgelati, biscotto confezionato sbriciolato e una pallina di gelato, per il modesto costo di 9€. Great location and sat by the window on the 2nd floor which was nice. Lovely peaceful atmosphere with soft music in background so you get to have conversation. Service was excellent! I had seafood carpaccio - loved the salmon and tuna but wasn't keen on the white fish. When they took my plate within minutes staff were over asking reason why and bought me more of the salmon and tuna. I had fish stew for my main and my partner had steak - both were lovely but typical in portion size for this kind of restaurant so was didappointed as the starter was big.
