Disappointing and overpriced I was quite disappointed with my visit to this Caffè. I had two espressos, each costing €4 (Spoiler: It was not made from beans of gold). While the coffee was fine – just a standard Lavazza – it was far from exceptional and certainly not worth the premium price. You’d expect something more special at that rate, but instead it felt like I was paying for the name, not the quality. To make things worse, service was indifferent at best. No one asked if we wanted anything else, and the staff didn’t seem particularly welcoming. With the espresso came a cheap industrial cookie – the kind you find in plastic wrap at discount hotels. It felt almost insulting. The interior feels like it’s from better days – a bit cold and stiff, as if it once carried pride and elegance but hasn’t quite kept up. It gives the impression of a place living off its past reputation, while no longer meeting its own standards. Empty cardboard boxes stand around, and there’s advertising for take-home coffee plastered on the wall – it all gives the impression that the place is slowly going downhill and is now trying to squeeze out every last euro. The outdoor seating area does look pleasant, which is a small plus – but overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. EDIT: Answer to owners reply: Even reading the menu in advance doesn’t change the fact that the price charged simply doesn’t reflect the experience — neither in terms of service, ambiance, nor the coffee itself. You’re presenting yourselves as part of a luxury tier that, frankly, you no longer seem to belong to. Serving a limp cookie in Lavazza-branded plastic packaging alongside a €4 espresso is hard to excuse — regardless of whether it’s sourced from a reputable industrial bakery. Your understanding of what defines a premium café experience appears fundamentally different from mine. Lavazza is, in principle, a solid brand — but the extent of its presence here, in a historically individual café like yours, feels entirely out of place. Branded cups, cookies, and even a dedicated Lavazza bar stand in stark contrast to the charm and uniqueness one would expect from such a venue. Looking at the growing number of negative reviews, it seems increasingly clear that I’m not alone in this impression. Rather than publishing lengthy, defensive replies devoid of self-reflection, perhaps your time would be better spent actively improving things — like clearing the service area of boxes or reconsidering how far you’ve strayed from your roots. When more and more people reflect back an image that doesn’t match your self-perception, it may be time to pause and reevaluate — even if that’s difficult. The fact that something has worked for 46 years is no guarantee that it still does. It does feel like, with this Lavazza partnership, you’ve traded in the soul and tradition of your establishment. I genuinely hope, for the sake of this once-distinctive café, that I’m wrong. And while I may not be your biggest fan — I do wish you just enough goodwill to prove me wrong with dignity.

This charming boutique coffee bar is delightful. I enjoyed a cappuccino and a caffè Freddo, both of which were excellent. The chocolate cake was also quite good. I initially sat inside but eventually moved to the outdoor patio, which is air-conditioned. They offer WiFi, but it’s limited to 30 minutes, so it's not ideal for extended remote work sessions.

This café offers an impressive array of coffee selections with various flavors to choose from. The extensive options made the coffee experience delightful. Coupled with the pleasant weather and a beautiful view, it was an ideal spot for a relaxing time. With such a wide variety of coffee and a serene ambiance.

Review of Gran Caffè La Caffettiera, Naples

During my recent stay at Agra Suites in Naples, I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying breakfast every morning at Gran Caffè La Caffettiera, and I can confidently say it was one of the highlights of my trip! This charming café quickly became my favorite spot to start the day, thanks to its delightful offerings and the warm atmosphere created by its exceptional staff.

From the moment I walked into Gran Caffè La Caffettiera, I was greeted with a smile and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The café's ambiance is inviting and cozy, with a touch of traditional Italian charm that makes it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The decor is elegant yet comfortable, making it easy to settle in and savor the morning.

Each morning, I indulged in their fantastic breakfast spread, which was nothing short of a culinary delight. The cappuccino was expertly crafted, with a creamy texture and just the right amount of froth, making it the perfect accompaniment to my meal. The freshly squeezed fruit juice was a refreshing addition, bursting with flavor and providing a healthy start to my day.

The croissants at Gran Caffè La Caffettiera are truly heavenly! They were flaky, buttery, and perfectly baked, making them a standout choice for breakfast. I also enjoyed the delicious eggs prepared to my liking, which added a savory touch to my morning routine. The variety of options available ensured that there was something for everyone, and I found myself looking forward to trying new dishes each day.

What truly made my breakfast experience exceptional, however, was the incredible staff. The team at Gran Caffè La Caffettiera is genuinely friendly and attentive, always ensuring that guests feel welcomed and well taken care of. After just one day of visiting, they remembered my preferences and made personalized recommendations, which made me feel like a valued guest. Their attentiveness and willingness to go the extra mile truly set this café apart.

In addition to the outstanding food and service, the location of Gran Caffè La Caffettiera is also ideal. Situated conveniently near Agra Suites, it was just a short walk away, allowing me to enjoy the beautiful streets of Naples on my way to breakfast. It was the perfect way to start each day, energizing me for the adventures that awaited.

In conclusion, my experience at Gran Caffè La Caffettiera was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of delicious food, excellent coffee, and the warm hospitality of the staff made it a memorable part of my stay in Naples. I highly recommend this café to anyone visiting the city; it’s the perfect place to enjoy a wonderful breakfast and immerse yourself in the local culture. I can’t wait to return on my next visit! Warm regards Robin and Ilse...
