STAY AWAY. This is a tourist trap of the worst kind, and we fell in it. It was late Sunday night, and most restaurants were closed, so we ate dinner here after being lured by the lady out front. Ordered three dishes-mixed salad, fried calamari and prawns, and gnocchi in pomodoro with pecorino. The mixed salad was rubbery, and WET. Like the dish was swimming in water (hopefully not the water it had been washed in). The fried calamari and prawns were a tasteless, rubbery blah. The gnocchi were bland, and buried under the sauce heap in the middle of the dish was a large chunk of beef. Upon further investigation, there were other little stringy bits of beef in the sauce elsewhere. I don't even want to know how this happens in a kitchen. Yuck. The waiter was very sweet and apologized when I told him the meat was in the dish. I felt bad that he had to serve this nasty stuff. He offered to have them make me another dish, but really we just wanted to go. This was the first meal on a three week stay in Italy we did not finish completely. Plus, they slapped on a "Coperto" or cover charge, which was not announced on the menu as is required by Italian law. Altogether, if you're desperate, don't go here. Get a pizza to go somewhere and skip the...
Read moreThis place initially looked good…until you saw how the waiter treated the new employee (busser or waiter in training). That should have set the stage for the rest of the service, but alas — we were silly and sat for what we thought would be a nice drink. The waiter was extraordinary rude from the get-go, bringing the bottle of wine but failing to open it. When we finally finished our drinks, he demanded that “this is a restaurant, you must order food” — despite the host having already taken our menus without qualm (we’d already been there for at least an hour). Additionally, the restaurant tried to claim it was busy and we took up a table for “paying” customers; but in fact, there were always multiple empty tables, as pictured here (unfortunately I only got one empty table in the photo, photographed at 9:15pm). Sorry to say, this place is less than impressive — there are plenty of excellent restaurants in Napoli, this just happens to not...
Read moreThis would have to rate as the worst dining experience we have ever had anywhere in Italy. The waiter was downright rude from the outset and obviously had a dislike of anyone who spoke English. As for the food my seafood Risotto consisted of a few very small clams and one mussel none of which had opened and two small prawns which must have been added after it had been cooked as they were stone cold. The net result was that it was inedible. My partners squid dish was no better and comprised parts that were over cooked and parts that were still raw. As such she left more than she ate. On seeing and hearing that we weren't happy with the meal the waiter looked shocked and hurt but still managed to present us with the bill. The best advice that I can give from our experience is if you are looking for a nice meal and a good night out then stay away from this place particularly if you are...
