Trattoria da Ninnone — Restaurant in Naples

We arrived at around 7:30pm on a Saturday night and the restaurant was quiet and tucked away from the big tourist area, but slowly filled with groups of people. The older gentleman out front was very nice and all the waiters were very friendly, despite us not speaking much Italian they made us feel welcome and were attentive.

The food itself was absolutely delicious, looked so good I couldn’t wait to take photos first! We had the fried anchovies (alici fritte) and seafood trio (tris di mare) for antipasti which were amazing. For primi we had the linguine della luciana (octopus, tomato, olives and capers) and the Scialatielli seafood pasta (pasta with mussels, prawns, pipis) - both well presented and delicious.

The tiramisu was a hit, very light and great way to end the me. All in all it was a great place to eat, away from the big groups of people and we were glad for the friendly service. Would recommend you give them a try!

We had a swordfish, they brought 3 identical flat "pancakes" definitely straight out of a freezer. Completely dry and bland. The octopus salad was just a few pathetic gummy pieces spilled over an iceberg lettuce. Spaghetti Bolognese literally looked like canned dog food. Definitely not fresh, deifinitely not homemade. Same goes for eggplant in tomato sauce which at least had some taste. The staff was extremely rude on top of that. I don't know what happened but other reviews absolutely don't match our experience. After a horrible experience at a restaurant up the street where we ended up walking out, we wandered by this amazing place. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was something to remember, with singing and laughter and kids speeding through the streets past our table on motor scooters!
