CAFFÈ V — Restaurant in Padua

We were a group of 6 and 5 of us ordered different coffees. The other servers were nice, but the waitress, a brown haired middle aged older Italian, slim woman, at our table was extremely rude. We speak perfect english and a few words in Italian and we told the waitress politely that we don’t speak Italian so we’d prefer english. When one of us did not order coffee she started loudly and rapidly talking in Italian. We presumed we have to order something, but she didn’t tell us. She then spilled the cappuccino, and didn’t say a word, then proceeded to again in Italian, rapidly, tell us something, and we heard the word Cassa, so we think she said we need to pay inside. She did not say a single word in english, and we were lucky to know Italian and she was extremely rude. The coffee was slightly less than a traditional espresso but it was fine.

Spend the whole afternoon there, drinking coffee, eating and studying with a friend. The coffee was very good, food was good and service was nice till the moment of payment. The service at the table was very efficient, but the 2 man at the payment counter were the rudest I ever met in Italy. My friend’s card took 3 minutes to charge (digital card), we said it was going to take “just a minute” and they said “Are you girls gonna pay for it or not?”, and then started to curse us in italian thinking we wouldn’t understand, but we did. My husband and I always battle to find the right place to eat even when reading reviews. However discovered the perfect spot in a touristic street. I had steak and veg and my husband had a Ceasar salad. Steak was perfectly cooked and the salad was huge and tasty, fantastic quality of food and the price was good. The size of my aperol spritz was huge, so hungry devoured everything before taking pics. Sat inside in the aircon during 30 degree heat, beautifully decorated and relaxed vibe. They have a variety of meals if you're sick of pizza and pasta. I highly recommend this as a breakfast...
