Caffeine — Restaurant in Padua

Today, we visited Caffeine, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing!!

To begin with, the service outside was terrible! There were two waitresses, but neither of them seemed to care about providing proper service. The coffee we ordered, which was just a regular coffee with no special requests, took over an hour to arrive. This was despite the fact that we were already waiting for quite some time. Even the pancakes, which also came late, were served much earlier than the coffee.

Adding to the frustration, we requested a glass of water, which never arrived at the end. When the pancakes came, the staff provided only one set of cutlery for two people. We asked for another set of knife and fork, but after waiting 15 minutes, nothing happened. We asked again, and still waiting, nothing. In the end, with everything going cold, I had to use the already used knife and fork.

To top it off, the bathroom was in poor condition and lacked paper, which added to the disappointment.

I was genuinely excited to try Caffeine, but the poor service, excessive delays, and lack of attention to basic requests ruined the experience. I expected so much better, and it’s really sad to leave feeling...

We were there for their famous and unique frappuccini. We tried two different flavors: caramel and matcha. I'm honestly surprised with my own orders, matcha, because it has the correct consistency that I want from a matcha. It's not too watery, unlike the other bars around Padova. I also heard that their pancake is good but I haven't had any chances to try it, yet. What makes me gave them 4 stars is the fact that their service is really slow. Maybe they need to grind the matcha powder first, but it took almost 30 minutes for them to serve our order. Not only that, during a hot summer day, you also have to beware of the ferocious birds around as they will take your chips as soon as you lose your focus. However, they have one of the nicest servers in Padova!

Esperienza così così.

Location comoda in centro Padova, facilmente accessibile dalle piazze. Mi è piaciuto lo stile interno, i tovaglioli personalizzati con la scritta "Caffeine" e il mood generale del locale. Molto curato anche il menù, con buona varietà di proposte.

Purtroppo gli aspetti positivi si concludono qua. Molte apparenze e poca sostanza.

La disorganizzazione regna sovrana: siamo andati in coppia e abbiamo dovuto aspettare fuori dal locale per 20 minuti prima che ci facessero accomodare. Dall'esterno vedevamo almeno 4 posti liberi (un tavolino basso da due, e altri due posti in un tavolo grande), quindi abbiamo chiesto ai camerieri e anche al gestore se magari potevamo accomodarci in uno di quelli, ma ci è stato detto di no. Presumevamo che fossero prenotati, ma ci sbagliavamo. Dopo appunto 20 minuti un cameriere esce e ci accompagna all'interno in uno dei posti che avevamo visto da fuori, al che un po' stizzito gli faccio notare che sono sempre stati liberi e addirittura avevamo specificatamente chiesto se potevamo sederci la, dato che li avevamo notati appena arrivati. Ci ha risposto con un "non li avevo visti".

Per quanto riguarda il cibo anche qua caos. Abbiamo ordinato due bevande calde, un piatto di uova strapazzate e un pancake alla frutta. Le bevande calde sono arrivate quasi subito, peccato però che il cibo sia arrivato mezzoretta dopo, quando ormai il bere era già freddo. Per non parlare di ordini sbagliati o tavoli confusi con altri tavoli.

La qualità del cibo comunque non valeva la pena di questa odissea, perchè il pancake alla frutta presentava solo UNA fragola tagliata a metà, 3 palline di ribes e UN alchechengi (una bacca della grandezza di una fragolina). Disarmante. Le uova strapazzate avevano 3 striscioline striminzite di bacon e UNA fetta di pane tagliata a metà. Costo neanche troppo contenuto. Si paga più per la foto da pubblicare su instagram che altro.

Ci tornerò sicuramente per potergli dare un'altra occasione, perchè una giornata no può capitare a tutti ed effettivamente essendo il weekend probabilmente c'era molta domanda da gestire, ma ammetto che come primo impatto non ci...
