Wished we’d come here more during our stay in Palermo. It’s just round the corner from where we are staying and on our second night we decided to stop by for a nightcap.
We honestly weren’t expecting too much when we ordered a glass of house white and house red but both were really tasty and perfectly chilled for what was still an incredibly hot evening. All the staff were very friendly, spoke good English (not a requirement by any means but definitely helped us form a connection with them) and had a good laugh and a joke with us.
The following night we had a bit of a disaster dinner at a supposedly “upmarket” restaurant and decided to go back and have a little pick-me-up. The contrast between sauce, rice, and crust is well defined. Sometimes, the crust is more of an afterthought, or it is something that just soaks up oil. But here, it is an "element." And the bread crumbs are big, not too fine, which I think helps them maintain their character. Finally, these arancine don't give me heartburn, and they don't feel heavy in my stomach.
For all these reasons, these arancine are the best I have found in Palermo...
