Pizza e Cucina — Restaurant in Palermo

This place has tasty pizza and is reasonably priced. This was overshadowed by how terrible the service was. We waited at the door for a table and were ignored repeatedly by staff. When we managed to call someone over they sat us at a table outside and did not return to take the order for around 25 minutes. Service was smooth inside and staff were not busy, but they ignored the outside tables completely. People beside us were waiting for even longer. A waitress came to take our order but went inside and never came back out again! The food arrived - the Sicilian octopus salad (insalata di polpo) arrived plain octopus, no vegetables or seasoning. This was different to pictures in previous reviews and no care was given to the food preparation. No doubt that the pizza was delicious ans good value! Other waitresses approached the table beside us and tried to take away customers food while they were still eating.... No communication from staff over where or how to pay the bill. Also, other guests leftthe restaurant vomiting outside near our tables! No effort form staff to clean up or check on their wellbeing. As tourists who speak Italian, the different treatment given to Italian families inside the restaurant was...

Zero stars. My husband and I have travelled all around the world and are big foodies. We are very well versed in quality Italian cuisine and let me tell you, this was far far far from that. We ordered a 'fresh' pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and truffle cream and what we got was totally different and on top of that, extremely bad tasting. Watery, sour mushrooms and tomatoes?! No truffle. No cream. As you can tell by the attached picture, we were jipped. We told the waiter right away but they didn't care at all (& the boy was rude too!) and made us pay despite us not touching the whole dish after the first bite. Did you think because of our skin tone that we don't know what good Italian food tastes like? I'm not even Italian and I promise you I can make a way better version than that.

The pizza was meh, edible at least.

To the owners and waiter, I hope one day you are made to pay a hefty price for a disgusting plate of food so you know what it feels like. Wish we hadn't chosen this mediocre restaurant with poor service. Steer clear of this very average place they try to...

En mi reciente visita a Pizza e Cucina en Palermo, quedé muy decepcionada con la experiencia. Decidimos parar para tomar unas bebidas, sin intención de pedir comida. Preguntamos a los camareros si era posible sólo pedir bebida y nos dijeron que adelante. Sin embargo, al recibir la cuenta, vi que nos habían cobrado el "coperto".

Sorprendida, pedí hablar con la encargada, esperando que se tratara de un error. Lamentablemente, la encargada insistió en que el cobro era por el servicio (¿?), independientemente de que solo hubiéramos consumido bebidas. Por supuesto, solo nos trajeron las bebidas. Ni pan, ni aceitunas, ni ninguna otra cosa.

Esta política me parece completamente injustificada y engañosa. El hecho de cobrar por un servicio que no recibimos en su totalidad deja mucho que desear en cuanto a la transparencia y honestidad del lugar. No recomiendo este restaurante. Hay muchas otras opciones en Palermo donde no tratan de aprovecharse de sus clientes de esta manera.

Durante la mia recente visita a Pizza e Cucina a Palermo, sono rimasta molto delusa dall'esperienza. Abbiamo deciso di fermarci per prendere qualcosa da bere, senza intenzione di ordinare cibo. Abbiamo chiesto ai camerieri se fosse possibile ordinare solo da bere e ci hanno detto di sì. Tuttavia, al ricevere il conto, ho visto che ci avevano addebitato il "coperto".

Sorpresa, ho chiesto di parlare con la responsabile, sperando che si trattasse di un errore. Purtroppo, la responsabile ha insistito sul fatto che il costo era per il servizio (?), indipendentemente dal fatto che avessimo consumato solo bevande. Ovviamente, ci hanno portato solo le bevande. Niente pane, niente olive, niente di niente.

Questa politica mi sembra completamente ingiustificata e ingannevole. Il fatto di addebitare un servizio che non abbiamo ricevuto completamente lascia molto a desiderare in termini di trasparenza e onestà del locale. Non consiglio questo ristorante. Ci sono molte altre opzioni a Palermo dove non cercano di approfittarsi dei clienti in...
