Procopio Pizzeria — Restaurant in Palermo

Yes, it is good pizza. But i was a little bit disappointed anyways. This restaurant is listed as "one of the best pizzas of Palermo" So i guess my expectations were just high. I had a pizza piccante. The black olives had a weird taste to them, a little on the sour side, like they had gone a little bad. The spicy salami was spicy and salty, but was lacking taste. Two weeks ago i had basically the same type of pizza at the restaurant Archestrato di Gela. (I added black olives and onions to their spicy salami pizza) and the taste was just fantastic! So much flavour in the salami and the black olives. So in comparison to that, my pizza at Procopio Pizzeria was just 3 stars. Since it is still a good pizza, i would rate it 4 stars in general. But it just could be better.

We also had a salad which sounded good on the menu, but was also lacking a bit of taste for the high rating of this restaurant. The sourdough bread, that came with the salad though was amazing! This spot is a real hidden gem, tucked away in a quiet courtyard that you’re guided to by the staff on the street. The pizza itself was outstanding – one of the fluffiest gluten-free crusts I’ve had since my diagnosis, and honestly among the very best gluten-free pizzas I’ve ever eaten. I even got a fresh plain gluten-free pizza served with carpaccio, which was fantastic, and the fact that they also serve gluten-free beer was another big plus.

Ho cenato in questo ristorante precisamente il 03/09/2023. Ero con un mio amico, devo ammettere che ci siamo accomodati all'orario prestabilito tramite la prenotazione. È stata un'esperienza aberrante. Diciamo non è stato uno dei migliori inizi, poiché il maître di sala ha indicato il tavolo e non ci ha nemmeno accompagnati, ma fin qui posso anche chiudere un occhio. La vera esperienza surreale è avvenuta durante la cena: mentre stavamo gustando il nostro antipasto è arrivato un addetto al servizio, che con un fare poco educato e abbastanza scortese ha portato via i piatti senza chiedere se potesse o fosse di nostro gradimento l'antipasto. Dopo quest'ultimo sarebbero dovute arrivare le pizze, sono arrivate con circa 40 minuti di attesa, roba che io trovo a dir poco incredibile. Evidentemente, saranno arrivate perché abbiamo chiesto il motivo per il quale stessimo aspettando così tanto e una persona del vostro staff ci ha comunicato che le pizze sarebbero arrivate da un momento all'altro, ma circa dopo 10 minuti è arrivato un altro collega a comunicarci tutt'altra cosa.. che le nostre pizze erano appena entrate in preparazione. Da qui si evince la non coerenza e la non trasparenza con il quale trattate i vostri clienti. Per giunta non abbiamo ricevuto neanche delle scuse per l'attesa infinita ed estenuante. La situazione è diventata paradossale mentre stavamo gustando le nostre pizze, considerato che il vostro staff si è riunito in cerchio mentre era molto vicino a noi e ha cominciato a porsi degli interrogativi sulle tabelline, che per giunta nemmeno sapevano, io non so come descrivere l'imbarazzo provato per voi. Sebbene finora abbia elencato tutti gli aspetti negativi della serata, ritengo che forniate sicuramente una qualità superiore rispetto alla media cittadina (nonostante la pizza fosse un po' bruciacchiata), che sicuramente ci sta attenzione nei confronti dei prodotti e che possedete un'ottima location. Però vi prego di sistemare quello sconcertante problema che ci sta sul pavimento, di cui allegherò sicuramente la foto, perché c'è il rischio che qualcuno inciampi e si faccia davvero male.
