Pesciolino — Restaurant in Pavia

A disappointing service in the restaurant. My friend and I came for lunch yesterday. We took pasta, water and coffee each. My friend ordered a glass of wine. In the end, I was given a bill of 30 euros to pay, wine being offered for free. I was surprised as we did not take the whole lunch menu (also including antipasto and dessert and costing 15 euros), but just a half of it. The waiters did not inform or advised us to take the whole menu as the price is the same. I informed my surprise to the lady working in the restaurant. She was rude to me shouting out that "In Italy you pay the full fixed price for lunch regardless of your order". And then... She basically turned away from me openly showing that she had nothing else to tell me and it was all my problem. I find it extremely disrespectful. I am a customer and I paid the whole bill. An easy thing could have been offered: just give me the dessert to go so I don't feel like I paid 30 euros for half of the offered options. I am still giving 3 stars, as the wine was offered for free and the food is good. But respect to the customers must be improved...

Sono arrivato presto e da solo mi sono seduto all'esterno. Una ragazza carina straniera mi ha accolto, potevo sedermi ovunque, era tutto libero. Le recensioni le ho lette tardi. Mi sono spostato all'interno, fuori c'erano troppi insetti, comprese le zanzare (a Pavia è così, mi hanno spiegato). Mi ha servito subito una focaccia con delle salse, erano buone, l'acqua aromatizzata. Ho ordinato un piatto di paccheri al granchio, il granchio era fresco e i paccheri ben cotti, il piatto nel complesso discreto. Mi ha meravigliato che dei nord africani musulmani potessero preparare un piatto di pasta discreto. A me le pinze per il granchi le hanno portate subito anche se unte (non le ho usate). Sono stato seduto per tutto il tempo dritto come si deve stare a tavola, si perché se ti appoggi alla spalliera un ferro ti addrizza la schiena a scapito di un cuscino che sfugge e tu lo riprendi da terra, e sfugge, e tu lo riprendi da terra, e così via, per tutto il tempo. L'errore della serata? Aver chiesto di assaporare un sauté di cozze, ... una zuppa di cozze mai vista, e non avrei mai dovuto ordinarla, praticamente "puzzava". Le cozze non erano state pulite, saltate in una pentola di alluminio con cipolla e non so cos'altro, ma doveva essere una ricetta nord africana, come le fanno loro da quelle parti. Orribili ... Le ho lasciate, mi sono guastato lo stomaco. Ho scelto di finire la cena da altra parte con una semplice pizza...
