Updated review: Our first visit since the lockdown, so we were eager to get stuffed and play a game or two. This time, though, the waiter advised playing after eating. On our first visit, the order took some time to arrive, but it's a slow food kind of place and none of us minded. This time, the food arrived in a surprisingly short time. We had the stinco (slow roasted pork shin) and sauerkraut with juniper berries, which was sublime. We also had the spiced red wine, which was fantastic. After dinner we all had artisanal liquors that came in the cutest little potion bottles. Then with the food finished we played a few rounds of Exploding Kittens, which was hilarious. Overall the whole visit was great, and I only have one warning: either order one set of fries for the group, or skip lunch to make space. We made the mistake of getting fries for each of us, and we were unable to eat even half before we got stuffed. And for fries this good, it's a tragedy having to throw some of them away. Amazing medieval-style cozy place in center Pavia. Owners are really nice to people and they always strive to create a comfortable environment to spend your night along with friends or family. Excellent menu with originally named tasty dishes, a wide choice of beers and a massive variety of themed liquors properly fitting the tavern's atmosphere. On top of that you are entirely free to take one of the many society and table games the tavern has in stock to play all night long with your friends and enjoy an outstanding party time, whether you are an old-style game lover or an hardcore rpg player. Aiai, che delusione. Sarà che leggendo le recensioni mi sono erroneamente creato aspettative alte, forse sbagliate, sicuramente diverse da quel che ho trovato. Ma voglio spiegare, onde evitare l'equivoco di cattiverie gratuite : il locale si presenta in realtà molto semplice e piuttosto scarno di dettagli o elementi di arredo che creino "l'atmosfera" medievale e coinvolgente che ci si potrebbe immaginare. Ne ho girati parecchi di ristoranti e locali a tema medievale, l'idea è buona ma secondo me qui c'è tanto da migliorare a partire dall'illuminazione troppo asettica e poco calda, qualche oggetto o accorgimento in più in giro per il locale o sui tavoli favorirebbe sicuramente l'impatto scenografico. Ma il vero tasto dolente è nei patti e nel rapporto qualità prezzo che, come già citato da alcuni, è davvero discutibile. Abbiamo avanzato praticamente tutto, nessuno ci ha chiesto perché (forse conoscendo la risposta),i peperoni cruschi dovrebbero scrocchiare e invece si faticano a mandare giù, mollicci e gommosi più simili a pomodori secchi che altro. Sui primi meglio sorvolare, sarà che sono sapori troppo medievali e studiati negli almanacchi storici e non li abbiamo apprezzati a causa della nostra ignoranza in materia, così evitiamo la polemica. Hamburgher ? Tanti, particolari e sulla carta interessanti, a quanto parte il piatto forte della casa ma come ha già detto qualcuno "a casa lì faccio meglio, più semplici ma buoni". Il pane si è sfaldato dopo due morsi, difficile individuare sapori perchè l'abbinamento di ingredienti fanno a botte tra loro finendo per annullarsi e non sentire il sapore della carne (in questo caso in particolare erano crema di zucca e gorgonzola a litigarsela). Ciliegina sulla torta conto anche piuttosto salato e poca empatia da camerieri e personale in generale. Le birre hanno un ottimo aspetto, sicuramente sono buone. Ottimo anche il poter scegliere giochi di società o da tavolo per allietare il tempo trascorso. Ma essendo in un ristorante, avendo pagato per il cibo, ahimè devo parlare...
