I recently had the pleasure of dining here and I simply cannot recommend this restaurant enough. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an unmistakable personal touch. The chef himself, Claudio, took the time to personally welcome us and even made the effort to come around to our table to engage in conversation. This level of attentiveness truly elevated our dining experience. We were only in town for a short visit, and it was our driver who recommended this restaurant to us. On our first night, with the help of our hotel and Chef Claudio, we managed to secure a reservation. Having tasted numerous exceptional dishes throughout our travels in Italy, I can confidently say that the food at this restaurant surpassed them all. Each dish was a testament to Chef Claudio's culinary expertise and passion. The flavors were vibrant, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation impeccable.
In fact, the food was so outstanding that we ended up returning for dinner for a second night as well. We simply couldn't resist the temptation to indulge in our favorite meal once more before bidding farewell. The consistency and quality of the dishes further solidified our admiration for the restaurant.
Aside from the exceptional food, the staff as a whole was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Heavenly made dishes.First of all it's the middle of the town in the historical roads arches and monuments and breathtaking views minutes away. The restaurant itself it's so cosy and romantic with traditional character they have as well incredible cellar with a great selection of wines we had an Umbrian wine Montefalco Sagrantimo elegant and earthy just perfect to accomplish our food. Now food ohhhh I can't describe the quality the flavours and the presentation literally made it one of the best meals and we had it twice even both times unbeatable. We tried the lamb chops cooked to perfection and the had special pork shank now that I never had it before slow cooked marinated with magic was the most tender meat was falling apart from the bone don't know how they cooked. We had an incredible starter as well onion with pure can't remember the name to be honest but I never thought that an onion can taste so good. We tried as well homemade tortellini with mozzarella and tomato with spinach pesto could eat all day to be fair. Excellent. Absolutely wow! This is my fiancé’s favorite restaurant in the world and now I know why after going two nights in a row. The first night included: chicken liver pate, onion tart, pappardelle ragu, Gorgonzola and beet pasta, filet, strawberry tart, and a bottle of montefalco rosso. The second night included: spinach/bacon/parm salad, clam pasta, arrabiata pasta (not on menu), truffle ravioli, pappardelle ragu, key lime and ginger cheesecake, tiramisu, and two bottles of montefalco rosso. My favorites were: chicken liver pate, clam pasta, pappardelle ragu, strawberry tart, tiramisu, and montefalco rosso. However, everything was delicious and I feel confident saying the same for the other menu items I was not able to try.
La Taverna is more than just about the delicious food. It’s about the entire experience, from the moment you’re seated to the moment you roll out of there. The polite staff seat you immediately to Prosecco and potato and leek soup. I felt like the most valued customer and I’m sure the other customers felt the same way. I was luck enough to meet Chef Claudio the second night. Chef Claudio is a wonderful and genuine person with a great sense of humor. He made my finance and I feel extremely special even sitting with us for 5 minutes to help us order. Chef Claudio and his staff made the experience truly incredible.
