Promptly seated, then ordering. Three of the appetizers on the menu were not available literally 5 minutes after they opened . Ordered Cacio e Pepe, the Cod with polenta, tortellini, and tagliata. The tortellini were lukewarm and hard, also a bit dry as the sauce wasn't quite sufficient for the dish and very thick; I couldn't tell if they were precooked (poorly) or just sat on the counter too long as several were sticking together. Definetely need some re-thinking. The Cod (Baccala') was about the right saltiness but with no other flavor/seasoning, the accompaning polenta and tomato sauce were bland and flavorless.. The Cacio e Pepe tagliatelle, came out barely warm and in a clump, sticking to each other; again sitting on the counter for a while? The added guanciale was chewy and not great. The tagliata was cooked properly and well seasoned. Service was minimal, and found wanting. Overall the ideas were good but poorly executed. At the end, having to ask for the bill, after waiting patiently is never a good thing. The ambience was nice...
Read moreFirstly, the service was great. There was only one bartender and one waiter for the whole restaurant. Even though he was rushed off his feet he never forgot anything and gave great service. What didn’t help him was the loud ringing and shouting coming from the kitchen. They would ring once and then ring three or four times more. This was really off putting. That wasn’t the only problem with the kitchen. The food was tasty but we felt cheated by what came vs what the menu had described. Fresh salad with a corn cream turned into a rocket salad, a few cherry tomatoes and a drizzle of mayo for €5. Pumpkin chips turned out to be a few pumpkin shavings on top of the meat. Also €5 for stale bread that we tasted and then put to the side. It was a nice room with good food. If the menu wasn’t exaggerated and the kitchen wasn’t obnoxious then it would be a complete...
Read moreI was really surprised at how poor the food was after seeing all the good reviews. Either they are fake, or the restaurant standards have gone down drastically. The service was good, and the waiters were friendly. The starters were OK, 1 cheese platter and 1 salami platter. It's all fairly strong hard cheese except for 1 goat cheese, so it was a bit too much of the same. The bread served when we first sat down was very dry, so we also ordered the Perugian bread, which was served warm and was very nice. The mains were not nice at all. The meat tortellini was very small with hardly any filling and had a very strong cheese taste. The fresh water spaghetti was not pleasant at all. It had a smoked taste and looked very unappetising. It was also quite expensive compared to other restaurants...
