In short, I would avoid. If you want my entire experience keep on scrolling. Service terrible, food awful, not recommend if it was the last restaurant on earth.
Recommended by our hotel, but wouldn't come ever again. As we were shown to our table, the waiter gave us 2 menus, for 4 people, which made ordering awful. 10 minutes after we have decided, they bring another 2 menus, which are completely useless now.
As soon as I opened the menu, I was disappointed with the fact that they had asterisks next to some of the foods, when I saw what was written at the bottom, it said; 'Some foods are frozen from origin'. If you can't cook, don't show it because it puts people off, straight away.
Complimentary cheese balls that was the only good thing, however was frozen from origin.
Our order is as follows; Bruschetta with tomatoes, oil and herbs Calzone pizza Capricciosa pizza Salcisse pizza Spaghetti with meat sauce. 2/1L waters
Bruschetta was nice, but would be easy to make. First meal was the Spaghetti with meat sauce, which had very little meat in it and had lots of tomato rather than meat, so was fairly standard.
Second to come out was the pizzas, which were disappointing to say in the least. Greasy and hard to cut through and in general pretty disgusting. Calzone was BURNT. Explained to waiters, who claimed 'That is how Calzone is made' which is false because in Venice which is where we stayed previously, the Calzone was not burnt. Plus it only contained cheese and ham, no mushrooms. Sent it back and ordered another pizza.
Capricciosa and Salcisse pizzas, were a bit burnt and were very greasy. The same with the Margarita pizza that came out 5 minutes later. All of them had to contain MSG, because I am still thirsty 2 hrs after we left. They also forced us to pay for the burnt Calzone, that no one ate. Poor service as well, with only 2 waiters on duty. If the chef can't cook stop trying because you are giving the restaurant a...
Read moreWe (2) had a delicious food experience at La Tana! The piti with Tuscan ragu was incredible, with a rich multidimensional taste and texture especially with the fresh piti pasta. I asked the waiter for the recipe and he described in detail a work of cuisine art!. 250ml of the house red was very decent and fantastic with the ragu. Mixed salad was very fresh and flavorful. We couldn’t stay for dessert unfortunately. The restaurant seemed to have many locals and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Service was fantastic once it started but they were a little busy when we came. We were sorry we hadn’t discovered La...
Read moreIf I could, I would give 6 stars! We found this gem of a restaurant by coincidence which is probably why it is so great, since most of the guests seemed to be locals who knew everyone in the place. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, the waiters friendly and spoke English well. We had Ravioli al salmone and Pizza Bresaola, rucola e parmigiano and it was the best meal of our trip through Tuscony. As seen in the photo the Pizza arrived later than the Pasta, but it was worth the wait. The vino della casa and the Tiramisu were good as well and overall the place was very clean and pretty. Would definitely recommend it for...
