We went there to look at the menu and the person standing in front of the restaurant told us about the menu deals. They sounded reasonable, so we went to a table. Only then the waitress informed us that the "Pizza + Drink = 9.5€" deal is only valid for Pizza Margherita (6.5€) and a normal drink (3€) which makes this deal pretty much useless. Keep in mind, a pizza with something on it is only 1-2€ more expensive than the Margherita. Being annoyed from the stupid half-truth on the menu, we ordered no drinks at all. The waitress even asked if we are sure, but we told her that we are sure that we want NO drinks.
Another waiter later brought us a 1L bottle of mineral water and opened it without asking anything and placed it on our table. We thought that maybe they felt bad and wanted to offer it for free, so we didn't question it and drank the water. The Pizza was very tasty, although I wouldn't exactly describe it as a Pizza, as the ground was so thin, you could probably see through it. One of the best pizzas we ate in Italy though.
Then we ordered dessert - Choco Panna Cotta. Honestly tasted very bad and we didn't finish it. Very grainy texture and almost no taste except for the cheap chocolate sauce.
Once I asked to pay, I saw that the waitress charged us 3€ for the water we didn't order. I didn't want to pay it because we explicitly told her multiple times that we wanted no drinks. After a lot of back and forth and some accusations on her end, she at least took it off the bill.
Pizza was nice, service is terrible. I wouldn't come...
Read moreIf you're planning a trip to Pisa, Italy, make sure Ristorante La Torre is at the top of your list! Nestled in the heart of this historic city, this charming restaurant offers not only incredible food but also a dining experience you'll want to savor.
From the moment we walked in, the staff provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Despite the chilly day, they went out of their way to ensure our comfort—offering cozy blankets and even turning on the heater to make us feel at home. Their attention to detail and genuine care set the tone for a memorable meal.
The food, however, was the true highlight. I started with their mussels soup, or Zuppa di Cozze, and it was nothing short of perfection—brimming with fresh flavors and a delightful zest. My wife ordered the Bordatino Pisano, a traditional Pisan soup, and it was an exquisite blend of rustic charm and authentic Italian taste. Each dish was crafted with precision and passion, reflecting the culinary heritage of the region.
Ristorante La Torre goes beyond just serving great food—it creates an experience that's both intimate and unforgettable. From the exceptional dishes to the thoughtful service, every moment here was excellent. Whether you're a foodie or simply looking for a place to unwind after exploring Pisa, this gem of a restaurant is a must-visit....
