Osteria La Stanzina — Restaurant in Pisa

We had amazing food and a great dining experience at this fantastic gem in the heart of Pisa. We reserved the day before and were able to book a lovely corner table within the resteraunt. Gregorio was a great host to us all evening, despite the rest of the restaurant being full with a large party; he and the kitchen handled it with ease and it made for a great, cosy atmosphere. The food was divine; each course was beautifully presented with superb flavours and clearly a lot of thought gone into them. I could've eaten our pasta course over and over..! We have eaten in many fine dining restaurants and this was right up there with the best, which is remarkable value despite its city centre location just a short walk from the Tower. Do yourself a favour; plan a day or two ahead, reserve a table here and avoid all the tourist trap diners along the main street. You will get an amazing meal, great laid back dining experience which makes you feel right at home, eating top class food from a great menu, with an extensive wine list that all proves to be great value as well. We ordered coffee, cherry pie, and panna cotta. The coffee never came, and they didn't have the panna cotta (because you can't heat it with microwave like the brownie we then had instead).

Once we had finished, we waited for the waiter for quite some time and eventually went looking after him, to discover he was in the kitchen watching football. We were then charged extra 2€ for the service.

Overall, the desserts we had could have been from the supermarket and there was no effort to at least make their display nice. Might actually qualify as the worst restaurant experience we...

This was a fantastic find (thanks google) a charming little ristorante about 10 mins walk from the Tower, close to the river  Arno.  Everything was brilliant,  the service, food, wine, ambience and character.  Seated outside I enjoyed 3 fantastic courses (plus amuse bouche) of tuna tartare, carbonara pasta and a cheesecake with salted caramel drizzle... all delicious and with local wines recommended by the restaurant.  The quality was outstanding especially given the reasonable prices.  Would thoroughly recommend for...
