Pizzeria Il Birbante — Restaurant in Pisa

I had such a wonderful experience here today, even though I didn’t originally come as a customer. It was late in the evening when I arrived at the nearby bus station after a 12 hour trip. I was exhausted, anxious, and trying to find my hostel when my phone battery suddenly died. I wasnt familiar with the area and didnt know what to do.

Thats when I came across this restaurant. The owners were incredibly kind even though I don’t speak Italian they tried their best despite the language barrier to help me. They offered me charge my phone, brought me water, and even offered me an absolutely delicious dessert on the house, while I waited for my phone to charge. On top of that they gave me directions to my hostel before I left.

I also noticed the food on other peoples tables and it looked amazing. I will definitely come back as a proper guest next time. Highly recommended not only for the food but also for the wonderful people who...

Stone oven, still the Pizza was in there for around 20 minutes. Oven is too cold. Dough too thick, tasting like cheap frozen pizza. Come on man, turn the heat up, make fresh Italian style dough and im sure you can make something better.

Edit: I was there on a wednesday around 13:30. There were 2 other customers in the shop who had already ordered. I saw when my pizza went in the oven, it was in there for over 20 minutes without getting burned. And unfortunately, nothing about this place...

I had my favorite dinner and service here during my Italy Trip, so I'm biased 😁.

The staff were welcoming. I didn't know what to order and asked them for recommendations. I was so grateful for that.

I highly recommend the pesto pizza under white pizzas!! It tasted heavenly. The flavours were distinct, and the pizza was light. Pesto is such a good spice.
