Amazing food at this elegant restaurant near the Domenico Modugno statue in Polignano a Mare. Delicious cold and warm starters. We chose 3 so we could shared them. Gin marinated salmon, stracciatella, fried zucchini and black olive powder. Fish balls, turnip cream, candied tomato and pecorino fondue. Steamed octopus, potato cream, fried zucchini, taggiasche olives and fried bread. Then we chose a main which was difficult as the menu had so many dishes that we liked! Two of us ordered Egg Tagliolini, sea urchin pulp and dried parsley powder. If you like the flavours of the ocean, this dish is for you! Our friend ordered the Fried Squids and Shrimp with caper mayonnaise. All of the dishes were exquisite! For dessert, we had to have the Tiramisu, as my best friend really wanted an authentic one, so we got one portion and 4 spoons to share, as we were all pretty full. What made the evening even more successful was the wonderful service by our waiter called Angelo, who entertained us throughout the evening. We had such a laugh with him that we were sorry to leave! 10 out of 10 for this place. Can't wait to come back. Highly...

This is our order (redacting some details for anonymity)
2 X Euro 3.00 = Coperto
Acciughe del Cantabrico, anchovies with stracciatella cheese; Tagliolino Ricci: split for us; with sea urchin; Cotoletta di Tonno: a slab of tuna in the style of a Milanese, which Peggy says is dry at the edges. Our server asks why she leaves some behind. Filetto di Ombrina, could be better and half the portion size of Resto Gusto in Otranto, which is a better preparation. TOTALE 124 We find the service disappointing. We must wait for another diner to complete their wine selection before we can use the wine list. Another adjacent table is a large party, maybe 14, who are challenging the servers. We decide against desert at Morus and we have dessert at the Martinucci a short walk away.
TIP you should have a booking for this restaurant. We saw hosts turning...
Read moreThis restaurant is an excellent choice in Polignano. The service was attentive and efficient, which made the evening very enjoyable. The setting is beautiful, right by the water, and pleasantly calm compared to the busy streets in the old town.
The food exceeded expectations. The truffle pasta was rich and flavorful, and the codfish balls were a real highlight. Both are worth trying if you visit.
In terms of atmosphere, the restaurant next door gives off a slightly more refined impression. That difference comes mainly from small details such as table lighting and the choice of chairs. With just a few upgrades, this place would easily match its neighbor in style.
Overall, it deserves a higher rating than the current 4.3 stars. In my view, 4.5 would be fair. I rated it with 5 stars to reflect the quality and to support a score that better represents...
