Let’s paint a picture…you arrive to the majestic city of Positano, a coastline painted with a cascading Mediterranean folleys. It is a colorfully painted town filled with character and a charm fitting for such a romantic city such as Positano. Your spirits are filled with love and excitement as you depart the ferry that just dropped you off on this fairy tale beach; people buzzing around local shops and snapping photos left and right in attempt to capture the beauty that is this place!!! A few steps in, and you ask yourself, why not grab a bite to eat? Perhaps a cappuccino or a panini adorned with fresh mozzarella and perfectly cured prosciutto that has been aging to perfection for lord knows how long. And, then, you land at Bucca di Bacco. Where in all honesty should be ashamed to served the food they serve. How can it be, that in one of the most enchanted and highly sought cities to visit, you find this establishment serving “American” styled sliced bread, literally out of a “wonder bread bag” and then pair it with what seemed like Kraft single cheese and toasted to mediocre level. It’s just insulting not only to the consumer but Italian cuisine in general. Not to mention the price gauging that happens here. We’ve traveled to Florence and Rome, and in some of the best restaurants these cities had to offer, and we never saw a cappuccino almost €7.50 - not even Starbucks sells a cappuccino that expensive and if they did, I promise you it would taste 10x better than the coffee I drank here. Please avoid at all cost! It is a tourist trap! A disgrace to Positano, and...

At the end of a morning of touring, we were looking for a marina side restaurant before catching our tender back to our boat. We picked this location simply because it opened at noon and the restaurants on either side didn’t open until 12:30 or 1:00. How odd is that with so many potential lunch guests. We were seated right away and service was efficient and attentive. Our group of 6 had a wide variety of drinks and food. I started with a local dark beer that was very good and I recommend (it is in one of the photos). I also tend to be quite adventuresome when it comes to foods so when I saw such a broad menu item as “fish fry” I had to try it. Don’t think American or British fried fish!! What arrived was a plate of tempura fish of different sizes between 2 and 5 inches with a simple gutted belly but all fins and heads and bones still intact after time in the fryer. Some red, some white, some blackish – I am guessing sardines, a redfish, perhaps even a small eel. Also squid, octopus and shrimp (also still quite intact). Served with only a lemon, I wasn’t sure about my selection. Then I started eating and every fish had a unique taste – all good. Bones were minimal, I ate no heads. But, it was a really really positive experience and I would do it again. For others, pizza was excellent and the orzo with shrimp was a taste sensation. I don’t usually give a simple outdoor café 5 stars, but for the price, the location, the service and the food, this restaurant...

The absolute WORST restaraunt in all of Italy and I’d say the world since I travel it, after our experience. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!

Upon entering, I wanted simply to order a beer and a pizza for my husband and I to share, it took about 50 mins for someone to come serve us, (I had to ask for service)which happened to be a male waiter unsure of his name, but I have a photo. He was rude as heck from the get go, rolled his eyes at us several times. I asked him for a beer and then the pizza and he said he couldn’t give us a pizza to share and a small pizza is over 22$ what a joke.🤣 Then he was rude and kicked us out. We’re your clients, you need us to make your money😳 we just wanted ONE pizza for LUNCH and a beer, it’s our money it’s our choice and if clients have bad experiences because of a bad waiters who choose to be ignorant and rude and deliver HORRIBLE service then this restaraunt surely won’t last long.

Someone in our group who was sitting at another table said the food is terrible as well, they did order a pizza and said it tasted really bland and doughy. Will never return, will never recommend this place and certainly won’t ever waste my hard earned cash here. No one should, you deserve - 5 stars because your waiters / food / service is...

We ended up dining here three days in a row, and honestly, it was all because of Nicola. From the very first interaction, he greeted us with the warmest smile and the kind of energy that instantly made us feel welcome and cared for. Nicola didn’t just take our order – he made us feel like old friends. His recommendations were spot-on every single time, and you could tell he genuinely cared about making our experience special. It’s rare to meet someone who takes so much pride in what they do, and Nicola’s attention to detail, kindness, and passion shined through in every moment. Whether it was sharing stories about the area or surprising us with a little treat at the end of our meal, Nicola went far above and beyond anything we expected. He made us feel like family and added a personal touch that truly turned our trip from great to unforgettable. This vacation will be one we talk about for years to come and Nicola is a huge reason why. He’s not just an amazing waiter, he’s a genuinely wonderful person, and we feel lucky to have crossed paths with him. Thank you, Nicola, for making our time so incredibly special. We cannot wait to come back, grazie mille! -Brett & Cindy Miami, Fl
