The most horrible experience I have ever had so far in my life

The only reason I have given this one star is because I wanted to write a massive essay on this so called “restaurant” below

Asked a waiter for a menu and was told to go around and look for one on the tables as he kept speaking to a friend of his(I would love to get paid to just sit and chat like this member of staff-rather than actually serve customers)

After being seated by a really grumpy looking waiter with a white shirt presumably the supervisor , who didn’t look at all pleased to have us ( me and my family are Asian by the way)

Asked for tap water and was told they don’t do it besides being a restaurant (this is understandable as they do have overpriced water bottles) asked the waiter for the size of the bottle and he had to ask another colleague (weird as he works there and doesn’t know how big the bottle was) he thin picked up an empty beer bottle frotm a nearby table being cleared up and genstured to show me its size

After sitting down , even though there were six of us , we only received one menu “one menu how outrageous!!!! After hearing is complaining about the “lack of Menus”

Mr Supervisor grumpily came and chucked a gem more menus on our table, which was very disrespectful

Now comes the best part

We then proceeded to order 2 pizzas and one Pasta(we weren’t feeling a lot of food as we needed to go swimming later)

After ordering Mr supervisor just looked at us and saidTHATS IT, THIS IS NOT A SNACK BAR ITS A RESTAURANT!!!!!!

What kind of a person working at areataurant says that to a customer, can we just not order what we want to order

To which he replies and says that we need to buy 1 plate per person!!!

Which normal person wants to have a whole pizza to themselves came to my mind??

Instead of arguing knowing they well cannot speak English , we decided to just get up and leave in front of their face

The only reason people are even still going here is because it’s next to the sea, there is not other benefit

After seeing all the reviews I would have though the management would be done something about their staff but as I can see they just share the same crooked and rude mentality

I now end this Multiworded essay that I honestly enjoyed writing siting in a bench right outside the restaurant

(If you have money and want to spend it in a way that will not make you regret it, I’d say please go...

THE MOST BLATANT SHOW OF DISCRIMINATION I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS FROM ANY RESTAURANT EVER - AVOID AT ALL COST.

My wife and I decided to dine at Ristorante Le Tre Sorelle for our last night in Positano. We were initially greeted and asked if we had a reservation. We didn't and were told to wait a minute and they would see what they can do. Totally understandable. While we were waiting, a group of 3 came up and asked for a table. The waitress asked them to wait for a minute, and proceeded to set a table for the group, right at the front of the restaurant. While they were waiting I asked the group if they had made a reservation and I was told they hadn't. The waitress comes back and proceeds to seat the group of 3. We then wait another 5 minutes and the waitress says she can seat us in the back corner of the restaurant. I see an empty table at the front of the restaurant and ask if we can sit there. The waitress says she will have to check and let us know. She goes back and speaks to her manager and comes back and tells us we can't sit there because there is a minimum spend of €40 per person. What was upsetting and nearly ruined our Positano experience was the assumption made that we weren't going to or couldn't afford to pay €40 euro each for very over rated and average food. I don't like making assumptions but my wife and I were both neatly dressed so the only reason I can see why we got this sort of treatment was our skin colour. We were offered 2 tables including the table right at the front of the restaurant so clearly they weren't reserved. After such a bad experience, we decided not to eat at a place which treats customers based off the way they look.

As mentioned above, avoid...

Update: Restaurant says the others reserved a table and thats why they got preferential seating, but i asked one of the groups who were seated before us, they had not booked, perhaps the other group did. I did not say it was because of my skin colour i was treated like this, i suggested it as a possibility because i couldnt think of any other reason why the waitress would assume we won't spend 40 Euro. So I dont think my assumption was absurd. I understand i should pre-book, but thats all the waitress had to say to us. Not assume we wont spend the money. THAT'S ABSURD. I also understand the tables at the front are for reserved guests, thats all she had to tell us and we would have understood. Not tell us that the table is only for those who spend over 40 euro. THAT'S ABSURD. Its your restaurant and your rules, which is fine, as a business owner myself I understand, but dont be d*cks about it. And telling us to have a great holiday after that, further cements your pretentious attitude. Review: Was made to wait for a table for longer than others who came in after us. Then when they finally arranged a table for us they wouldn't give us a table along the front of the restaurant because the waitress said you had to spend a minimum of 40 Euro to sit there. It was so very presumptious and rude to assume we wouldn't spend that money. Not sure if it's because we're brown or because weren't super dressed up. I've never experienced such poor treatment from such a pretentious outfit, I cried all the way back to...

Listen up, people! You’re not in your native country and just because Positano is loaded to the gills with tourists, doesn’t mean service is like it is where you live and certainly neither is the language. Try to pay attention and try to speak a little italian. You can’t just walk into a dining area and expect the Olive Garden staff to appear like magic. I came here at the height of lunch time as a solo traveler and was greeted, given an excellent table, spoken to by name, and offered excellent service by Gaetano. Following the recommendation of Giada de Laurentiis I enjoyed the cold seafood antipasto which was fresh and delicious, the marinated zucchini alla scapece which was just like my nonnas, and a local white wine and limoncello. Anyone that thinks this is expensive is crazy. This meal would have cost 300 dollars in New York City with seafood from a farm in Thailand. This is fresh, local food served with class and abundance, and lots of good people watching. You cannot fault the staff for being overrun with disrespectful tourists with unrealistic expectations. It’s Positano. You’re here to relax. So...relax and enjoy. Gaetano and other staff even apologized to me after the very nice couple next to me from Australia melts talking to me for my entire lunch so I barely was able to eat in peace, but it was all good! You never know who you’ll meet. Certainly recommended.

Me & my husband had a wonderful experience at this restaurant located at Spiaggia Grande beach in Positano. We made an email reservation 1 day before we arrive in Positano & that same night I received the confirmation. We got lucky since we went during the shoulder season. Restaurant reservation is necessary if you do not wish to wait for open tables, the restaurant tends to get full in this location especially if you go during Summer time. This place is family owned, as you can tell they take pride of their business. We ate next door a day prior coz it was hip & known in social media so we checked it out but the level of service is not even close in comparison to the service provided by the Le Tre Sorelle staff. They are very attentive of your needs, we don’t even have to ask. That right there is 5 star in our book, as we like to have nice dinner dates & enjoy great service. They made sure we have what we need, they served us well. Fantastic service, it definitely made our night special. The seafood I ordered taste amazing, from the mussels sautéed in olive oil & garlic, to the freshly grilled catch of the day & to the grilled mixed sea food. Everything so delish! We definitely recommend this restaurant. Grazie Millie Le Tre Sorelle!

🥖 Bread, Olive Oil & Balsamic 🧀 Burrata 🌺 Fried Zucchini Flowers 🍝 Meatball and Pork Sausage Rigatoni 🥔 Tomato and Mozzarella Gnocchi 🦐 Prawn Pasta 🍝 Spaghetti with Mussels 🍕 Margarita Pizza 🍕 Calzone Pizza 🍕 Capricciosa Pizza 🍹 Basil Mule Cocktail 🍸 Margarita Review: After spending 7 nights in Positano and having the opportunity to try numerous restaurants, Le Tre Sorelle was definitely a favourite. We were recommended to try here from some locals and were not disappointed. On the first occasion we got the burrata and zucchini flowers to share which were both fresh and flavourful. My favourite was the zucchini flowers with a crispy exterior and light fluffy ricotta centre. I went with the meatball and pork sausage rigatoni for my main which was perfectly Al dente with a rich tomato sauce and good amount of meat to pair it with. The second visit we again got the burrata but for the main I went with the Capricciosa pizza which was delicious. A perfect woodfired base with a good amount of fresh ingredients that complimented each other. I would also recommend the basil mule cocktail. Staff were very friendly and food came out quick.
