Underwhelming and disappointing. I went here for dinner with my best friend who is vegan, but not picky or pretentious. I ordered the goat cheese beet salad without the cheese so she could enjoy it, she asked for roasted vegetables and basically gave the chef a blank slate to work with. I also had the breaded oysters and swordfish for the main course. The atmosphere is of course lovely, and the servers and bartender were attentive, hence the 2 stars. The food was worse than average. The salad was mixed greens with a dressing that was essentially just olive oil - no other flavors came through. There was supposed to be some beetroot, which perhaps was in the dressing, but I didn’t get any solid chunks in the salad itself. I had to put salt on the salad because it had no flavor - I understand the goat cheese may have improved this, but if the cheese is the only flavor in a salad, that’s a culinary problem. Next, the breaded oyster was rather plain. If you can imagine an oyster in it’s shell, warmed, with some bread crumbs sprinkled on top, with some spots of bright sauce for the “expensive food effect”, that’s really all it tasted like. The worst by far were the roasted vegetables. This was supposed to be a main course for someone who does not eat dairy or animal products - it’s a blank slate that any good chef should be proud to accept the challenge to create. Instead, what we got was a plate of green beans, roasted celery, fennel and carrot. There was no seasoning that we could tell. There was some olive oil, no sauce, under salted, no flavor, no starch. We had to ask for extra bread and salt to make the vegetables palatable. Honestly, it was just lazy. What makes this so disappointing is that it’s an expensive meal, in Italy, made by people who are reputed to take pride in their food, and this dish was made with no care at all. I would not serve this at my own home to guests without being embarrassed. The swordfish was just ok. All in all, this has been the worst resuarant we have eaten at so far in Italy between Rome and Positano. The wine was great, service was nice (despite the fact that over half the vegetables were left on the plate and no one particularly seemed to care). Don’t waste a precious meal in Italy on a restaurant that treats food like this! Spend your money at a place that takes pride in what...

My wife and I thought we would go all out for our last night of our honeymoon. We decided to do the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Being from Australia you have to remember that euro is not our friend and everything is really double the price for us.
Our booking was for 7:30pm and we didn’t leave the restaurant until 11:30pm. The night started out beautifully, service was amazing, food came out quickly and the staff were very attentive.
Unfortunately that all changed when a table of 4 was sat next to us. The 4 guests were quite loud, arrogant and constantly demanded the attention of the staff, with 2 staff attending to them.
Throughout the night the table of 4 become quite inebriated and loud, one lady wore a large brim hat inside the whole night, the other lady was wearing sunglasses inside and randomly would break out into song at the top of her voice, and the 2 males were loud and obnoxious in conversation.
This table made our romantic night disappointing and memorable for all the wrong reasons. Another table on the other side of us left as soon as they could as they were also annoyed by this tables behaviour.
The staff could see that this table was disrupting all the guests inside but did nothing about it.
We finished one of our dishes and sat there from around 10 minutes and no staff came by to take our plates so I had to go looking for a staff member. I asked to be moved to another table but by this time the guests had already ruined our night. It is unfortunate that the staff could not ask these guests to be more respectful to others when they clearly very loud and had to wait for other customers to complain before anything was done about it.
The staff apologised to us in the end after these guests left but the damage was already done.. our experience should not have taken 4 hours and cost...

I booked a table for 5 beforehand and was situated it the inside dining room surrounded by beautiful wine cellar. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and guided us through the menu.
3 complimentary bread baskets and a complimentary starter for each person was served which was a very nice touch. The bread was soft and fluffy and perfectly baked.
For starter we opted for grilled octopus on a base of mashed potato and topped with corn chips. The octopus was cooked well and the chargrill gave them a nice smoky flavour.
Main course no1 was short cubettone pasta with lobster and toasted nuts. Amazing dish with a variety of textures from the soft al dente pasta to the crunch of the toasted nuts. The lobster was poached beautifully and the sauce brought a real nice balance to the whole dish.
Second Main dish and a must try was the Risotto. A three layered dish with basil pesto at the bottom, middle layer of yellow tomato and the top layer of risotto, which is sealed off with a garnish of black garlic sauce. A very well constructed dish with a mouthful of flavours. The acidity of basil pesto and the sweetness of yellow tomato with the creaminess of risotto reflects the quality of the michelin star this place truly deserves.
The third and final dish was the veal fillet and cheek. The veal melted in your mouth and extremely tender, you could tell it was made with a lot of passion and love.
To end the night the chef sent another complimentary dessert bites which included strawberry jelly, chocolate and biscuits.
The staff was very attentive and explained each dish as it was served. The wine selection is great with endless choice.
The whole experience was phenomenal from start to finish, a must visit for when you are...
