Angolo Dell'Aurora — Restaurant in Rome

Service with a smile, I think not! We sat down at our table to be greeted with no less than a grunt, after ordering water and cola to clench our thirst as it was 25 degrees the waitress clearly not approving of this decision to choose soft drinks and as she returned with the drinks she felt the need to express her opinion on our drink choices by muttering "oh cheap" under her breath to which me and my partner both heard, I don't think this was appropriate as we don't feel the need to drink alcohol with every meal to enjoy it more importantly we were genuinely thirsty as we are British and have not quite adjusted to the climate of the Italian summer understandable. Nonetheless we were hopeful for our food both ordering pasta dishes of tortellini and ravioli they came quite literally dropped and slid in front of us like it was dog food. There was no offering of any salt or extras to accompany our meal, the meals themselves each consisted of 8 pieces of pasta! Nonetheless the food was average, we paid and left not to return again! It's just lucky that there are local, friendly and pleasant bars around the corner where we stopped to drink and eat as we were both still hungry after leaving!! This "restaurant" behaves like you are not worthy of dinning there, my recommendation is...

I ordered a dish of different seafood, the taste it is not tasty. Aperol for 15 euro very expensive,because it is not tasty and there is a lot of ice. Hotel reception's recommendation. But you are not sure if you are in Rome or in the US. Everyone in the restaurant(seriously EVERYONE) is American. No single Italian's there. Even the waiter is not Italian. Well it's near touristic area so that's understandable. But the food takes an hour to be served, although there were only 4 tables when we were there. Don't expect too much on the piano live, it's not as romantic as you think it is. The food is ok but not for the value. The fish was ok but streak was like rubber. There's no outside seat and inside the restaurant is too hot. Not sure they have air conditioner because we felt cooler when we were out. If you are looking for a real local experience, this place is not at all the one, neither for food...
