I normally do not write negative reviews, but I have a feeling I need to here. I visited your place around 8pm and wanted to buy croissants. I was surprised that the shop window was full of pastry even though it was evening. Service(darker skin man) was kind, he suggested lobster tail pastry because there were no croissants left. He even gave me one smaller ,,lobster" extra. Now the bad thing. I know that ,,lobsters" are crunchy and different pastry than croissant, but these were so hard that we could almost not even eat it. We have good young teeth but I was legit scared that I will break my teeth. We ate one lobster instantly and then we started eating the remaining two at airport in next 2 hours and when I broke one lobster into half and we were shocked. The lobster was full of mold! But it did not look like mold that just started, it was full of hairy mold all over the inside, instead of chocolate cream. Unfortunately, I instantly threw it to bin and did not think about making a photo. From this experience, I can say that the pastry is not fresh(at least not what we had), and since the shop window was full of pastry at 8pm, it would be sold to a different customer the next day. I know things like this can happen because of warm weather from outside when it's hot, but I have never had such hard lobster pastry, so I would suggest not to sell old pastry to customers. No hate, but the mold inside looked like the lobster was in the shop window for a week. I need to leave 1* because of the mold, sorry. Maybe next time I will have better experience.
Edit: Owner replied to me with message full of insults, he/she cannot take responsibility, absolutely delusional. People can look at other negative reviews and see that owner insults every single person who leaves negative review even if the review is truth. I am not racist, I said the service was KIND! I said I don't normally leave bad reviews and I said sorry that I need to because mold is dangerous. Not a fake profile, I am willing to send hotel information that we stayed in the same street as your bakery. I am not even feeling bad for the review now since owner does not want to fix problems and he insults customers instead. You can be happy that I found the mold inside lobster tail on the airport because otherwise I would throw it in your face and want my money back. I am really angry now, very bad...

We embarked upon this wonderful journey into the senses of a delicious smelling bakery as pastry’s and pizzas odors smelled the room in a delightful combination of sweet and salty we laid our eyes upon the pizza squares with big mozzarella slices deposited upon the tomato sauce covered thin dough. As we licked our lips in anticipation of the hot pizza slice, we discovered a truly revolutionary concept, the pizza square had been brutally sliced in two and put one on top of the other to form a pizza sandwich. When the lava hot pizza sandwich finally cooled down we bit into it. It’s suave sauce was satisfying and the mozzarella was beautifully stretchy but the problem lied in the dough. Although we shan’t be excepting Michelin star level pizzas from a simple bakery, the base was cruelly flat with a pathetic crisp. Barely tasting of anything, it served as a sad stab back to reality to bring us back from the distractions of...
Read moreAntico Forno Serpenti was one of the best discoveries during our trip to Rome. We loved it so much that we went back for breakfast a second time, and we’ll definitely return if we visit Rome again.
The service is absolutely outstanding. Maximiliano and his team are some of the kindest and most attentive people we’ve met. They truly made the experience special.
The food was incredible. The focaccias with mortadella were delicious, and the Sicilian cannoli were the best we found in all of Rome—they’re a must-try. I also really enjoyed the Aragostini and the cheese, ham, and courgette Twisters. Everything was fresh and full of flavour.
On top of that, I was so happy to have pear juice here, something that sounds common, but I rarely find it in the UK. It’s a small detail, but it made the visit even better.
Antico Forno Serpenti is cosy, welcoming, and serves amazing food with exceptional service. Thank you to the whole team for such a...
